By testifying that there is no one worthy of worship but Allah and that Mohammed peace be upon him is His messenger and acting accordingly.

Examples of how you "act accordingly":

- Believeing that God is the only one to be worshiped, that He is All-Wise, Almighty, that He's your Creator, and that His path is the only path leading to success means that you should do the acts that God has obliged you to do and stay away from what Gos has forbidden.

- Believing that God is your only Sustainer, and that no one can cause you any harm or benefit unless God allows that to happen means that you will fear no one but God and that you will stand up for what's right even if that may cause you worldly losses.

The main path towards heaven is to be a good practicing Muslim. Of course there may be exceptions, like infants who die young, or those who have never heard of the religion. However, unlike other religions (specifically Christianity), Muslims believe that people are accountable for their actions and won't just be forgiven because of the actions of someone else (specifically referring to the Christian belief that Christ died for the sins of all humanity) I never really understood this, because it seems that life would be meaningless if we would all be forgiven and go to Heaven anyway- where's the motivation to live a good life?.Muslims don't prescribe to this point of view, but instead believe in the individual strife ultimately doing more good than bad.

And to respond to some other common misinterpretations of what Muslims will get in Heaven, don't put too much emphasis on the specific details because they were meant to show what types of great things people could achieve if they lived a good life. They are not necessarily an exact list of what one will get.

don't be fools, just remember that islam and christianity are almost exactly the same except we dont believe that jesus is the son of god, he is the messenger and that has been proved to us
and whoever said false prophets seems to be very illiterate, listen, we believe in adam, noah, jesus, moses and many more as the prophets and they aint false sunshine..
killing innocent civillians doesnt work in islam, its totally forbidden and its not like they're gonna go paradise anyway, suicide etc, its all forbidden ..and try to understand that people only turn to islamic extremist groups because of the way they are treated in society, so if your treated badly (just like you f ucks are doing now) you will feel you'll never fit in and go ahead blow ureself..
but its obviously not right! ....
you people should give some respect and maybe you wont get bombed the next day, so beware...
we believe in "jesus" like i said, but we dont associate anyone with God, and remember Allah is your lord and ours because if you look in the arabic bible you will find where it says God , "allah" instead ..its an arabic term you goons. So before you answer such questions go study about islam, because your too dumb about your own religion ...so what makes you think you can answer this type of question? and when you study islam it can change your views :

I don't understand that people are saved by their deeds because just because a person does something good, and right it does not mean they will go to heaven, if the Lord has not been accepted into ones heart doing a good deed is not a right to the passage of heaven, many people do good things only because they want rewards, so still there is no substance in doing the good deed, we have to have God in our hearts/life in order to enter heaven.

The most basic condition is to have faith in Islam. A Muslim who doesn't believe in Islam, or suspects it, won't go in heaven even if he does lots of good deeds. Believing that Allah is one & Muhammad (sm) is Allah's messenger is the best of the best deeds.

Again, Muslims have no saviors such as Jesus for Christians. Muslims have to follow Islam if they want to enter heaven with mercy of Allah.

Strap a bomb on your a$$, blow up some innocents as well as yourself, and you get to Islam's heaven where a bunch of virgins are waiting to fulfill your fantasies. Be sure and drop me a note when you get there.

If anyone desires anything other than Islam as a religion, it will not be accepted from him, and in the hereafter he will be among the losers. (3:85)

It has been revealed to you and those before you: ‘If you associate others with Allah, your actions will come to nothing and you will be among the losers.’ (39:65)
