Do you go to hell for being gay?

gay's not a sin cuz some peoples are born to b gay and god made them that way so it's not a sin.

Oh, you'll get a lot of answers on this. Fundamentalist Christians who follow the Bible word for word as it is written and who can't actually think for themselves will say yes, it is a sin. However, I believe the Bible should be taken as a historical document and as such, measured against the passage of time. It was right in the Bible to stone people to death but we no longer believe that. Homosexuality is not a disease or a sin. It is the way the person was made, not a choice. I don't believe in a true hell and I certainly don't believe you go to hell for being gay.
If you would like to explore further what different religions believe on the subject, you might go to beliefnet and do some research. I am a Unitarian Universalist and ours is a liberal religous tradition. Our beliefs are much more open than many.

I hate to tell everyone that is saying it's not, but committing homosexual acts is a sin, and being gay is a sin, b/c even if you have not done anything with anyone, you will still be having lustful thoughts about someone of the same sex. However, it is a forgivable sin, just like any other. You can ask forgiveness if you really mean it, but that also means you have to stop doing it. I know two people, one man and one woman who were gay, but they got delivered from that sin and got married to each other and now have children.

It depends on who you ask. I know that personally being raised in a Christian family, I have been taught that being gay is a sin. And the only way to get rid of sin is to ask forgiveness.
I don't mean to offend by my answer. I'm just answering based on what I have been taught. I believe that people are gonna live the way they want. I can't change that.

It teaches in the bible that God is againsts Homosexuality. In
1 Timothy 1:9-11, Roman 1:24-27 and Leviticus 20:13 tells you about homosexuality.

Yes, I do believe it is a sin,, but a lot of things we do are sins. Are we judged by "how big a sin" we lived.
Thou shalt not commit Adultry~ to me/// that is breaking a commandment and it is a sin also~~~
Thou shalt not Kill~ is that person going to not ever going to be permitted into Heaven???
Thou shalt honor thy father and thy mother....
So,what I am getting at/// if you ask God to forgive you for your sins, and help take away these fillings you have..
But, there is the subject of Aids...I do believe that is a form of punishment for living that lifestyle....
I am not an expert in these sorts of things,, and only telling what I think....
Although, I am sure others who have studied the bible, will be able to tell you about being gay/ sinning/ going to heaven and if one sin is worse than the other. (other than killing yourself~~~ but/// what happens if you ask God to forgive you for doing this to yourself before you die, and to come into your heart and be savior and lord.... Does he say NO? )

Yes, it is a sin to be gay. But if you ask for forgivness he will forgive you. If you want to go to heaven you have to:
1. Admit that your a sinner
2. Believe that Jesus is your Savior
3. Confess that Jesus is our God.
Those were the abc's to get to heaven. God forgives all sins. So even if you are gay, ask for forgivness, and God will forgive you. In the beginning God made Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve.

If you're Christian, then yes. Otherwise, you probably don't believe in hell and it would not be a sin.
Whomever said that it's your opinion that homosexuality is a choice: dude, that's just wrong. Don't base all your actions on your "opinion". Look at the facts! People get hurt by acting on what they *think* is right as opposed to what they know!

yes you are but to answer your question that's exactly ONE reason Jesus hung on the cross. To save us from our sins. So whether or not you are gay will not cause you to go to hell. NOT believing in Jesus will cause you to go to hell. FOREVER!

in Leviticus 18:22 it speaks of homosexuality,Leviticus 20:13 also speaks of homosexuality.......the good book does speak against homosexuals as well as adulators sin is sin its just a matter of what u believe i can say its wrong all day its not going to stop the homosexual movement at all.....but in the new testament in the book of romans you can alwayz repent of your sins and be forgiven.......
