That's something that needs to be discussed openly BEFORE ever having sex with a person. If you are not capable of monagamy or don't want that, there are people of both sexes that are the same as you. What is wrong is leading a person to believe that you want monogamy with them and then complaining about it afterwards. Try an open polygamous lifestyle if that's for you. But that means no double standards -- and complete openness and honesty. Definitely not a lifestyle for me -- I am monogamous all the way, but if you're not monogamous then why pose as one then complain? That's weak.

Welcome to the world of post-modernism! Post-modern thought tends to look at things rather erroneously, with an attitude that all truth is relative. The very definition of truth, however, is anything but relative. Here is what Webster's says about truth:

2 a (1) : the state of being the case : FACT (2) : the body of real things, events, and facts : ACTUALITY (3) often capitalized : a transcendent fundamental or spiritual reality b : a judgment, proposition, or idea that is true or accepted as true c : the body of true statements and propositions
3 a : the property (as of a statement) of being in accord with fact or reality b chiefly British : TRUE 2 c : fidelity to an original or to a standard
If you notice, the word reality appears many times, as does actuality. Truth is not relative. There are things that are relative. My favorite flavor ice cream is relative. That's called an opinion. The sky is blue. That is a truth. Whether you are colorblind or not makes no difference, if you see the sky as blue, or don't see the sky as blue, the sky is still blue (Unless you live in LA).
Now, related to your statement, why can you tell your mate not to have sex with someone besides you? According to Biblical truth, (which I find to be ultimate, and if you want to know why, that's another question and I'd be happy to go on about it) it is wrong for a person to have sex with someone who is not their spouse. Now we have an issue where it isn't your opinion that they shouldn't have sex with someone else, it is a higher authority.
If you see a sign on the road that says "Stop" it is not a relative statement. It doesn't mean stop if you feel like it. Another driver going along the road didn't just decide to go and post that sign. The city decided to post that sign to better regulate traffic, and you know that if you fail to obey, then you will very possibly reap the consequences. That truth is there whether you believe it or not.
In short, the reason that you can tell your mate not to have sex with someone besides you is because there is a higher authority that claims that rule, namely God.

Truth is not a relative term. Truth is an absolute----no subjection, no deviation. People in this society have tried to paint, taint, distort, mask, hide, rationalize, categorize, demoralize, and theorize the truth to fit whatever sin they're living in that they do NOT want to stop or that they feel they are powerless to stop.
The truth is------without subjugation, saturation, manipulation, or categorization --- that if you are married and you have sex with someone who is not you wife, you are guilty of the sin called adultery. The woman or man with whom the adultery was commited is also guilty of the sin, fornication.
The Bible is quite clear on what happens to those folks if they do not confess their sins, ask for forgiveness, and completely turn away from every commiting those sins again.
For the wages of sin is death; the gift of God is eternal life. Romans 6:23
In 1 Corinthians 6:9, Paul writes to the church in Corinth, rebuking them for sin, showing them what kind of people will NOT inherit the kingdom of God
1 Corinthians 6:9 "Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, 10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God."
Hebrews 13:4 proves that marriage is of the undefiled bed of whoremongers, adulterers, fornicators & the like.
Hebrews 13:4 "Marriage [is] honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge."
1st Timothy 4:1-3 "Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils. 2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; 3 Forbidding to marry, [and commanding] to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth."
John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth and the life: no man cometh unto the Father but by me". These are the words Jesus spoke to Thomas the doubter (thus the statement of our time; Doubting Thomas).
There is no relative or subjective quantification of truth. It is definitive.

The only people who say truth is relative are the ones that don't want to answer to an authority. They realize that if truth is absolute, they are held responsible for their actions.

When you can honor a contract, then you have a glimmer of what Truth is. Your perception of the truth grows, as you expand your community of Trust.
When you live in trust with a mate, you demonstrate the Truth, and offer others the opportunity to grow.
