They really are completely different. Do you prefer going and laying on the beach in the sun, or do you prefer to bundle up and watch for wildlife and just look at natures beauty.
I would go for Alaska, it is one of my favorite destinations. I think it is beautiful and it is just breathtaking the first time. Plus, I love cold weather, I would take it any day over hot weather. In my opinion, the Caribbean has lost some of its beauty to all the stores and people trying to sell you things.
It really just depends on where you prefer to go, what ships you are looking at, how much you want to spend, how long you want to go, etc.

I guess Carribean over Alaska. Alaska cruises are really mellow with an older crowd. Not my cup of tea to be hanging out with my parents and grandparents on vacation.
I'm not sure that I'd really want to do the Carribean either. It will be hot, possibly rainy, and Hurricaine season *is* here.
But, between the two, I would pick Carribean. Although, you *could* make your own fun on the Alaska cruise. . .

I would suggest the Alaska cruise because that is a good time to go to Alaska to get good weather. On the other hand, the caribbean will be hot and humid and you can spend a lot of good time in the sun on the beach, or on ship and do stuff like snorkle, scuba, parasail, horse back ride, jet ski, and/or sail on a party boat, and some ships have a beach party for you.
BUT, in addition to that hot humid weather, you may also have a hurricane and rough seas. A better time for a caribbean cruise is March/April throught maybe mid july to get the best chances of missing the hurricanes or after the end of October when the hurricane season is over.
Now ships do modify their itineraries to get away from hurricanes, but that does you no good if there is one at your departure port when you are ready to sail.
On an Alaska cruise the worse you will get is some rain, maybe.

Well if it's a summer cruise. I would say the Caribbean. The final window for Alaska is about to come to an end. I believe it goes dark during the summer months. Better check that out first.

Make sure if you pick the Caribbean to watch the weather. Might want to get insurance!
A lot of vacations were spoiled last year due to the Hurricanes.
Alaska and Caribbean cruises are like apples and oranges.
I'd pick the Caribbean cause I like the WARM SUN!

Alaska. Once you've been to one poor country, you've been to them all.
