I am an atheist and even I think this is a stupid question! Yeah, maybe Jim Jones or David Koresh thought they should have all the women, but I doubt if either of them 'couldn't get laid any other way'. I can think of no mainstream religions that would have been started just so someone could get lucky.

You are very messed up. Religion was started by Men. Christianity was started for Men and Women, And they have equal access to God. Getting laid is not a problem any women I know have. its the Men who seem to be depraved.

What?????????? OK I admit it is an important part of life but most religions restrict sexual activity rather than encourage it. In most religions you are restricted to one sexual partner. This would greatly reduce the amount of people "getting laid". Now alcohol that may have been started for the purpose of "getting laid."

It is about realising that only humans can choose not to opt for routine stuff of procreation, or the attractions needed to ensure it, and to attempt for an experience of life beyond the sensory organs which even the animals are capable (perhaps, in a better way than humans!)

What do you mean, "couldn't get laid?" Many ancient religions that predate the worship of God, up to 2,000 years in fact, did not require celibacy. Many even encouraged their priests to engage in sexual behavior. Do a little research next time.
