Littering the streets with cigarettes?

Can anyone tell my why smokers feel it is appropriate to throw their cigarette butts out the car window? Every time I am at a stop light I look out and see hundreds of butts. As far as I know all cars have an ashtray. Why do they want to mess up the country for everyone else?

Cindy - I do not smoke - and don't allow it in my car, so there is no reason why they would be in my car. BUT if I did smoke I would take responsibility and not litter. Basiclly this act tells me that smokers are selfish, lazy people who do not care about anyone other than themselves.

I agree...if they smoke in the car...that is what an ASHTRAY is for people...to dump your cigarettes in! I always shake my head whenever I see someone dump a cigarette butt....it is illegal in a few states, though people still do it.

Because people are selfish they would rather mess up there body and our country than there car. I got a place for those butts. How about smokers put them in there ***.

If they do not care about the second-hand smoke affecting us, why would they care about the cigarette buts affecting our environment? They do not care.
