I am a Catholic Christian and seriously want to know why some people find it so hard to believe in a loving God yet they can believe that something as unimportant as when you are born or the lines on your hands or even how cards are in a deck can map out your lives?

How is this bigotry?

People believe what they want to believe. Many are resentful of Christianity. It contains rules they don't like. Meanwhile, astrology is FUN for them. It ends up replacing the void in their lives for something that connects them with the transcendent and the sacred-- just like that Wicca crap. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but not only are horoscopes completely bunk, you're NOT even the zodiac sign you think you are. Here's why astrology is not only bogus, it's one of the few facets of mysticism which can be PROVED false ....

A person is said to inherent traits of the sign in which the sun rose on his birthday. Because of the "Precession of the equinoxes", the sun no longer rises in the constellations it did when the Zodiac attributes were invented. So, you're not even the sign you think you are. Anyone who is Leo, for example, who claims the horoscope for Leo ALWAYS matches his life-- inform him-- he's NOT Leo.

So, they should rethink what they put their faith into.

I have no idea why people can believe in astrology so strongly. The possibility of the stars and planets somehow affecting your daily life and even your future is absolutely ridiculous. You make your own life happen, or in some people's opinions, God makes things happen in your life.

The planets and stars do not directly affect you, it YOU that makes your life change for better or for worse.

Sometimes I just read my horoscopes (or as I call them, stupid-scopes or horror-scopes) for fun or to see just how far off base they are.

Usually the people who believe in astrology, palmistry, and tarot also believe in some form of deity, and use these practices as tools for discerning the will of said deity.

It just may not be the God you perceive.

Most people who believe that no God or other higher power exists will tell you that they don't believe in witchcraft or any form of prophecy either.

Horoscopes and fortunetelling (which is impossible anyway) do not replace God. But they can and do augment your knowledge. The moon has been shown in many ways to affect the affairs of men. Why not the stars?

Because the devil can always tell the past, but not the present.

People believe because they hear the things from their past.
But why can't they give the Lottery numbers?
No future there!
I Only believe in Christ Jesus.
He is the past, the present and the future!
because I have him, I know my future.

I don't believe in palm reading or fortune telling. But then, I don't believe in god either.

Actually in my experience most people who believe in fortune telling, etc, also tend to believe in a god. Go figure . . .

I'm not sure what makes their beliefs less valid or believable than your Catholic beliefs. You believe in magic as much as they do.

I think you will find that most who don't believe in god don't believe in fortune telling or horoscopes.

The devil has people blind, and fooled into believing in such things. I look to Jesus. He knows my future, my past, and my present. He is the one who knows all. I put my Faith, and Trust in Jesus. His advice is true, and free.
