Lets look at the reasons people give for it not being legal...
"WE need to protect the sanctimonious nature of marriage! It is an institution between man and woman!" Perhaps then, one can explain to me why 1 of every 2 marriages end in divorce in this country - how f*cking sanctimonious is THAT?
I say it should be legal - why shouldnt a man be able to protect his own belongings and whomever he loves by leaving his earthly possessions to his lover upon his death? This is only something striaght people should be allowed to do? Why? Shouldnt gay people be allowed to have their significant others on their medical insurance, etc? Married people are allowed. Heck, give me one GOOD, REAL REASON (other than "the Bible says so") why they SHOULDNT be allowed to be married....who could it possibly hurt??

I have no problem with a gay couple having the same rights as a straight couple. I have no problem with a legal gay union. However, I feel the word "marriage" should be reserved for the traditional union between a man and a woman.
It should be legal, but just give it another name.

Absolutely..Marriage is about family..Not some big guy named Bubba saying "Hey baby lets get hitched and pop out some Chillins'"
Im all for Gay Marriage..its a union and really it has nothing to do with religion or anything..its two people who love eachother, and want to be together and have the same rights as straight couples..

I have no problem with a civil union between gays. However, "marriage" is a word, it is defined legally, morally, and ethically.
A same sex couple can no more "marry" than I can be an African American (Black) because I simply am not black. I could go on and on about definitions but I'm sure you understand.

Yes, Yes, Yes! Who is to judge someone Else's relationship? I know bible slingers say that marriage is between man and a woman, but if they were true to their religion there would be no divorce no sex before marriage, porn, or even sexual thoughts for Christs sake. I think marriage is for two people who are in love and devoted to one another...whether that be between a man and a woman, man and man, or a woman and another woman...they have every right to do what makes them feel content.

No i don't think so.First of all we were all created by God and He gave us rules for living. How do we think we can live without Him?When you buy a television but it is not working properly what do you do?You simply read it's manual for instructions.
Okay why is it difficult for human to study the manual of our creator which is the bilbe.Sodom and Gomorah were distroyed because of immorality so let us repent of our ways before it is too late.Say no to gay marriage.

Absolutely. Who are we to say that same-sex relationships are any less important or real? Same-sex couples lose out on the benefits (financial, legal and emotional) of marriage, and deserve to be treated like equals. Not allowing them to marry is discrimination, pure and simple, and I am extremely disappointed that the NY courts didn't rule in their favor.

Yes because then if they make it illegal then they should make any marrige illegal. they can't help being gay so i think they should keep it legal. it says in the constitution that men and women of any race in this country have the right to be created equal. it should stay that way. i don't think it's right that they are making it illegal. i have no problem with anybody who is gay. just as long as they don't make a move on me.

no. because it wont end there. same with marijuana. make that legal then more people will push to make narcotics legal and try to justify it with the pot being legalized. you allow gay marriages to be norm then that would open doors for bestiality and maybe necrophilia. As well two same sex parents wont allow the children to receive diff. perspectives in life thus being left unbalanced.

yes,
as long as the government chooses to recognize marriage as an official status.. then it should NOT be allowed to be defined by religious groups. period.
We in the West pride ourselves on being secular democracies with equal minority rights. Lest we intend to be hypocrites, we have no right to criticize theocracies like Iran, or Taliban Afghanistan o r Saudi Arabia (oh wait, no one DARES ciritcize the Wahabists do they?) over their human rights.
You gonna talk the talk - you need to walk the walk
