I think either $5 minimum/hour or $3/child/hour
That's what I used to charge when I was younger and I would expect to pay a minimum of $20 for more than 2 hours (if I had kids)

It depends on how old the babysitter is, how old your kids are, how many kids you have, etc. When I used to babysit I would do it for like an evening like from 5:00-midnight and I would like get $50 for it.(But I lived in a rich snobby neighborhood..lol. I would say $5.00 an hour would be the average though.

Depends on if it is babysitting or regular daycare. I provided home daycare while my baby was young. As a special education teacher and early intervention specialist, I charged $25/day to provide developmentally appropriate activities and meals. I also occassionaly care for a child with autism for whom I receive $10.00/hour.
I pay my babysitter 5$/hour for 1 child and 1$/hour for each additional child (I have 3, but 1 is in school and sometimes she watches 1-2 while I take the other(s) to appointments). This is a person I trust and watches the girls for me 1-4hours/day. If I were to hire a sitter to go to dinner, etc., I would probably pay a flat rate, depending on if she had to feed them or if they were sleeping.

A babysitter over 17 years old w/ a car and a liscense is worth 8 dollars an hour or even 10 dollars an hour if he/she is watching more than one kid. This is in New Jersey. In New York city, you could get 10/hr easily. A 16 year-old w/ no car who watches your child for a few hours should get at least 6 dollars an hour... in NJ.

about $5.

This is how I charged. I think it's more than fair.

1 kid $3 an hour
2 kids $2.50 an hour
3 kids $2.35 an hour
4 kids $2.25 an hour

If you overnight babysit, cut it down to $1 an hour while they're sleeping.

well it depends on how many kinds youre baby sitting, like one child is usually $3 and two-three kids is like $5. That's what I charge anyways, but some people give you $5 for just one kid. Either way, you're making money and it's fun! enjoy babysitting!

When I used to babysit, it depending on how long and how many kids then I would just tell them a price. Also the age of the babysitter and age of kids!!!
Probably a good $10 would do good
