As a beverage, It's an acquired taste, but I like it several times a year. I like it baked into almost everything, I even have a recipe for a buttermilk pie (sort of custardy).
If you're referring to Dale Evans horse, I liked it , too.

I absolutely detest the smell of it. When I was very young, my mother would have mashed potatoes swimming in buttermilk and even now as I type, I am feeling sick. Oh my goodness, what a horrible memory, sorry Mom................

Not for drinking but in baked goods and marinating meat it's great.
I prefer the taste of sour cream, which is similar. I like to have a little baked potato with my sour cream. Also good with fish and gravies.

Not to drink by itself...but nothing equals it for biscuits, in carrot cake, or to soak chicken in prior to breading and frying.

No! I bought it once and I took one tiny sip and took it to the sink right afterwards. I'm glad I don't remember the taste.
