Something light - lighter/brighter colors make your room look bigger and more inviting. I'd suggest a light pink (doesn't have to be hot pink, maybe a pale pink or whatever you'd prefer). A bright blue would create a nice calming environment, kind of like the ocean :)
Purples and burgundies are also calming and inviting they remind me of Spas!

avoid white! Go for the color you like the most but as light as possible!
My friend has her room painted in a tangerine "orange', that was just plain GORGEOUS but you need to be able to see it everyday and every night!

can you provide more details? what color is the furniture in your room, the carpet, the beadspread?
i'll assume you're moving in, and have nothing as of yet. I would paint it 2 colors. Each opposite wall would be the same color.
Blue and yellow, red and beige, light green and beige, light green and red, purple and yellow

It all depends on what you are into. But if you want it to go with any decorating scheme you may have, I would go with something neutral like a beige or off white. Maybe a brown of some kind. But it really depends on you own taste and if you want it to match your existing decorations.

it depends on d size n location of d room.. if d room is small n recieves less light, paint it light like citrus yellow or baby blue... it makes d room appear bigger n reflects more light so it appears brighter.. howevr if u hav a spacious room tht gets plenty of sunlight, u hav more options 2 paint it flaming orange to deep purple to evn red!!
p.s- it also depends on ur taste!
