It's ok your daddy hit your mommy if she done something wrong or bad to your daddy. By that hit, mommy can get a lesson do not do something bad behind daddy's back or do something that will make your whole family been humiliated. You should not be seeing this yourself. And the police will make sure you dont have to see daddy hit mommy again. Your daddy needs to go to jail, I'm sorry but hitting or striking another person is wrong, no matter what it is of an evil force and anything evil is controlled by satan. You should not have to live in this environment you can try to talk to someone so that you can get your mom the help she deserves, I know I was abused for many years, and I had a son that did not deserve to see this, and sometimes if a child is in this environment, then the child picks up the ways unknowingly and the cycle does not get broken.
I urge you to seek help and to be careful in not getting yourself or your mom hurt.

No, it is definitely not ok to hit someone who has not consented to it. If she allows it, if she thinks it is ok for her - then, in my opinion, it is ok

And yes, I know that kind of agreemend in a relationship myself.

I'm in a form of relationship in which I allow my partner to punish me when he thinks it is necessary - and I do not "suffer" because I *want* it, it was my decision to have this kind of relationship and I know he will *always* be fair. He's never been hard with me :-)

It is true, that qur'an says that a man has got this right, but you have to read it properly to understand that this is no excuse for excessive abuse (by the way, the bible allows even slavery, and considers a wife property of her man - the bible isn't "better" than islam!)

But qur'an also says that men have to be fair against their women.

Excessive abuse is *not* fair. Cruelty is *not* fair. And getting aggressive at her only because she makes a mistake is most definetly not the right thing to do.

Qur'an also says that men they shouldn't be overly strict and that they should not seek reasons to hit her when she hasn't done anything wrong.

The way you are writing it, your father seems to abuse your mother on a regular basis and that in a manner that has nothing to do with the behaviour I would like to see in a man I trust with a power like this - like I do with my partner.

But do not take tradition for religion.

Many women get abused without being muslimas and for me, it is *not* the religion that makes men doing that.
