I recommend you do a google search for 'word metadata'

It's a 'feature' of word that most people do not understand and has resulted in some huge gaffs if the past couple of years where people have been sent word documents and recovered the deleted data to discover the pre edited version.

There are programs that may be able to restore lost data. It may be in your recycle bin. You can also try hitting control Z. You may even be able to shut the computer off incorrectly to try and recover from the last auto save. But without knowing exactly what you did, it's a little hard to help.

Not possible if the document has been saved unless you have a backup of the previous version under a different name. If the document is still open and unsaved, you can undo as many steps as there were back to the last save using Ctrl-Z or the undo button.
