Do cats really have 9 lives?!

it sometimes seems that way because cats are quite nimble. They say that cats always land on their feet, however , this isn't always true. I have a cat that was walking on the edge of the bathroom sink, lost his balance and fell on his head. (The vet was ready to argue the point until I told him that I had witnessed this) He needed surgery on his ear. (the cat-not the vet!)

No, it's just a metaphore the complete saying is actually "cats have nine lives because they need all they can get." It means that cat's are actually lucky that they can land on their feet and as they always get in the way or any rocking chair or table's leg, that's what it means, some people actually believe what old people say, some say cats have nine some say cats have seven, some actually made up ones that say foxes have 18 lives!!!

I don't know, but they sure are lucky sometimes!
My sister's cat hopped in the dryer while my mom wasn't looking and went for a ride. She also recently ran away and came back with some fur burned off.
We joke she must be on her fifth life by now, and she's not even a year yet!

cats don't accutly have 9 lives it is a metapohore but some people are stupid and crule so they test it and kill the cat.
