Because no one has yet figured out how to leave "here" alive.
Because if we weren't here we'd be over there, but if everybody was over there, then no one would be here, and over there would then be here and here would be over there. (a demonstration of Westonian Logic which also states that 3+4=7 only because 11-2=9).
We're all here because someone somewhere said, let's create an Internet... someplace where we can all be together and still be apart; someplace where everyone knows your name, but no one knows who you are; Someplace to call home that we can't see and can't touch. Hm...talk about living in a fantasy world. Virtual reality... its' all in your head!

It's obvious that we yahoo answer users are the modern day messiahs, the prophets of the space age technology. The direct conduit through which god (or gods, or aliens, what ever you believe :P) act through in order to make the world a better place.
Or maybe it's just because were all border-line insane and insanity's greatest companion is competition.

Some say we're miniature soldiers in god's dirt war. OR we're here to learn from each other what we need in order to live and let live and love. No I am not a hippie - far from it. I just think that we all have our own ideas of what we're here for. We may not be thinking the right thoughts...
