yes- the body needs fat to live, just not the amount we are accustom to putting in our bodies. If you don't eat any fat then the body thinks its starving thus you will gain weight for a period of 7 or so days then start to lose. If your going to eat fat eat healthy ones that come natural like the fat in fruit and veggies :-)

On food labels even if it says 0 grams of fat they have a right to round it down if the fat is less than 0.5 of a gram. So technically you can still gain weight.

You can still gain weight quite easily -- your body will still convert excess carbohydrates into fat. Dietary fat doesn't always go straight to your butt or hips, but is required for energy, and for transport of fat-soluble vitamins like A, D and K. A healthy diet balances intake of fat and carbohydrates with other nutrients and a healthy lifestyle -- regular exercise, reduction in stress levels, moderation in consumption of alcohol or tobacoo products. Don't deprive yourself of fat, carbs, or even cholesterol -- your body needs these things in moderation to maintain itself.

Of course you will. It is calories, not grams of fat, that leads to weight gain. You can eat losts of fat-free carbs, and you will blimp up, because you body will covert it to fat and save it.

Yes. Because such foods also contain sugars and other forms of carbs. The body converts such things into fat (thus the term Beer Belly - beer is high in carbs, but not fat).

Yes, it is total calories that matter, not just fat. If you take in more calories than you burn off you will gain weight
