Is the information being reported on your credit bureau report? If so contact the bureau that is reporting the info (It is going to be experian, equifax or transunion, maybe even all three) You need to call the companies and tell them that you want dispute the information that is being reported. The credit bureau will then have 30 days from the date that you disputed the information to investigate what is being reported. The company that is reporting the information has to then provide proof to the agency reporting the information. If proof cannot be provided the credit bureau must remove the information and send you an amended report. It's rather easy to do. Let the credit bureau do the work in researching don't let them make you think that you have to provide proof.
