My wife gained about 45 pounds (just had the baby last week). She's lost about 16 pounds of it thus far. Just be glad you didnt have a delivery like her- 50 hours until they yanked my son out with the forceps. It was really hard on her, and she is still trying to recover from it.

I didn't have any of your complications but I gained about 40 pounds with my first and about 35 with my second. The first time it just kinda came off. I think I was a nervous first mother, so I got thinner than ever. The second time was much more difficult. I got stuck at 160 also. I joined Weight Watchers and lost almost 20 lb. and kept it off for a long time. Now that "baby" is 18 and I wish I weighed 160 again! A lot of it has to do with your age. I was 33 with the first and 36 with the second. Keep doing what you are doing and it will be slow and steady. Enjoy your baby and don't let the extra weight get you down. No one sees it as much as you do, and who's looking at you now that you have a gorgeous baby with you??

I gained 80 lb. with my first baby. I had lost all but 15 of it when I got pregnant with my second baby. I was more active during my second pregnancy, so I didn't gain nearly as much...I think I gained 40 lb. I still have this nagging 15 lb. following me around, but you know what...that 15 lb. is disbursed evenly between my boobs and my hips, and I really do like myself better now. I was too thin when I got pregnant the first time. Right now I'm a size 12 with some nice curves, and I'm happy. I wouldn't complain if I stayed this size for the rest of my life.
My sister-in-law is now a size smaller than she was before she got pregnant, and you know what...she's ugly to me. Don't get me wrong...i love her dearly, but she's just...well, she doesn't look like a woman to me. She's too thin.
We're women...we're SUPPOSED to have curves and a little extra padding in certain places. We were NOT created to look like Nicole Richie.
Having a "perfect" body isn't really a great goal, you know? You should be thankful that you have a healthy, happy baby...the little bit of extra weight you put on is because you had a baby. Take heart...it's only been 4 months. Soon enough she'll be crawling, then walking, and your extra weight will fly off! :)

Yeah, I gained 44 pounds. I only lost 28 of it after the birth of my daughter and have been kind of struggling with it ever since. I had a perfectly flat stomach and a great body before I gave birth too. Some people are just genetically blessed when it comes to having kids. The rest of us struggle.
I find that working out 3x a week and staying on Weight Watchers has really helped.

I gained 100 pounds when I was pregnant with my first daughter. I had toxemia which caused severe swelling and water retention. I weighed 127 when I got pregnant, weighed 227 when I gave birth. Well, at my 6 week check-up I was already back down to 155. I was losing it slowly but it was coming off. I went back in when my daughter was 4 months old to make sure my birth control was working properly. I'm a very fertile person and doc wanted to make sure I wasn't pregnant. Well, I found out I was 2 months pregnant. So, now that I've had my second daughter, the weight doesn't want to come off. Something that's working a little for me, if you drink soda, switch to diet. Try to watch your carb intake. Good luck on losing the weight.

I gained about 50 pounds. By the time I came home from the hospital I had lost only 12! I hear you. It was hard to get the weight off - it was like glue. Anyway I joined ediets and I finally lost the weight. I think that you might need to use a plan - like an online diet or weight watchers or something. After trying everything else it was the only thing that worked.

I went from 125 to 165 and I only made it to 35 weeks. I had to be induced for severe pre-eclampsia and high blood pressure. I am still trying to lose the weight now. My son will be 5 months tomorrow. You are doing great to have gotten down to 160 that fast. The last little bit is the hardest to lose they say. Keep at it and you will get there!

My friend had that problem, she used Tai bo and it worked great for her. I swear by Pilate's to tone back up...but don't get the hour long CD, stick with a 30 minute beginners disk. You know, you might never get to 130 again, you might find your post pregnancy weight balances out a bit heavier. Try not to be so hard on yourself, often that is the greatest sabotage.
Finally, ask your doc for some advise, you know your ob sees this all the time. They may have some suggestions for you. You can also ask to have your thyroid checked, pregnancy can do all sorts of weird things to it that don't show up until later.
Good luck honey, I wish you the best, don't give up okay?

Don't be too hard on yourself. I know that it seems like you HAVE to get back to your pre pregnancy weight but you have to realize that your body is different now. Just keep on doing what your doing. Being healthy for your child is THE most important thing right now.
I gained 54 pounds with my first pregnancy. I was 199 pounds the day I gave birth. Right now I am hovering right below 160. I know how hard it is to look in the mirror and not be happy with what you see. But I know that every time I look at my precious little boy every flabby pound and stretch mark is totally worth it.
