Most medical terms are from the Latin language. That is why some things have such long difficult names.

Because the doctors and scientists want to feel smarter than all of the rest of us, so they make up complicated names for things. The same is true in all fields of science, not just medicine.

It is because they use Latin to name areas of the body. So something short like arm bone, might be very long in Latin.

It is very logical if you know medical terminology. The big hard names break down until you see very clearly why its called what its called. :o)

They do that so they can tell who is really dedicated to learning them....that way only the dedicated ones can be a dr......lol I don't know really
