I've heard it said that before you were born or conceived, God had a plan for you already, how you were gonna look, speak, act, do in your life. So if that's the case, and he had this plan for you, he had written this plan and everything you did. Why would it be a sin if you kill someone if in God's plan he had written that you were gonna do this, isn't it more like God's will?

kind of makes you think maybe God's not perfect. Bet you get a lot of "freewill" type answers to this.

OK, this is gonna take a minute.

In the pre-existence--that would be when we lived in heaven with God as his spirit children--God had a plan that we could all go to earth and gain bodies and learn to be happy. God gave us the right to choose whether we would do the things that would make us happy. He needed someone to go and sacrifice his life for us so that we would have the opportunity to repent of our wrongs. That's where Christ comes in. Then another of God's sons came in a said that he would force all of us to do the right thing, but that he wanted all the glory for bringing everyone back to heaven. There was a war in heaven and 1/3 of the children of God were cast out of heaven and Lucifer became Satan. God would not allow the right to choose to be taken away, so he sent Christ.

No, we're in this life, we have a body, and we're all here trying to learn how to be happy. Happiness comes through righteousness which is why God gives us all those commandments--he's trying to help us be happy.

God has a plan for us to help us be happy. Whether we follow that plan or not determines in large part how happy we will be. So, the more you follow God's will, the better off you are, but at the same time, God will not take away the right to choose.

The god of the old testament (where you are getting your idea of predestination) doesn't exist, and the miracles performed back then were done by large Group Entities who posed as a deity. The "burning bush" that the prophet Moses saw and communicated with was the manifestation of a large Group Entity - not from a god or God.

So you don't have to worry about a god or God forcing you to do something, directly or indirectly. However, after death we all must face ourselves in a panoramic life review, take responsibility for our actions, and strive to amend karmic debts. Only then can we ascend to a spiritual place in The Light Of The God Force, which is nonliving, infinite, and governed by Universal Law which cannot be changed one iota.

Everyone has free will and everyone ultimately is responsible for their actions. We choose our parents and our general circumstances for life and we also choose to come into physicality in the first place.

Do some past life regression research with a trained hypnotherapist and you will remember why you came into your family.

No, it's not like God's will and it's not necessarily God's plan. All things are woven together. In the end, the human free will as well as God's Will will find a union together. This isn't God's working to make things the way they are, it's humans allowing God to work through them so that all things will end with good instead of evil. Evil is murder and all other sin. Those of us who allow God to work through us would never think of doing such a thing. And God would no longer request such an action from us. He would know if we were going to do it and would work through the Christians in the situation to allow some sort of good to come through it all, but murder never has been nor never will be God's will.

Congratulations! You are using your head and exercising your thinking abilities.

Predestination is false, since as you pointed out, nothing would be a sin, since it was already "etched in stone". The idea is preposterous.

Yes, God does have a plan, and a will, and a purpose. You can either act in harmony with him, or choose not to.

You have free will and are reponsibile for your own actions, and God does not know what you will eventually decide to do.

There is a divine plan, God knows what are going to do before we do it, and at the same time we have free will. This is not a contradiction, but rather shows the great knowledge that God has since he is the All-Knowing, and also shows the limited knowledge that humans have.

God does not predetermine the evil acts of men, nor does God cause them. Rather, these permitted acts mean that God knows beforehand how people will react in each circumstance. He allows people to make autonomous decisions, the choice to do good or evil. God’s foreknowledge of the evil that people perpetrate onto others caused Him to create within humans the ability to overcome that evil. And the good that people are capable of was predetermined by God to be blessed when doing good was chosen. These blessings enable humans to win over evil, while fulfilling God’s total plan.

Dear enterrador,

I believe you have gotten some "bad" information. I can tell you of God's (the Lord Jesus Christ's) plan of salvation but it would take me about 5 pages. May I refer you to this website: www.familyradio.com and as you scroll through the literature, you will see a booklet entitled, "What Must I Do To Become Saved?" You can call Family Radio toll free and ask for (all literature is free) or you can download it on your computer. I hope this will help you.

There are some of The Christian Faith who take such a hard line stand on God's minut controle, at all times and in all things, kind of position

Nothing wrong with that stand if they want to concider God in that way. It will not affectr their Salvation to do so.

Mankind has been granted Free Will. even casual observation of life and history will confirm that. So, in this mortal world, man can do what ever he damn well pleases. And most do just that. BUT, God can intervien any time he wants to... Every thing belongs to him and he can do what he wants with his creation. He made all the makes up you and every one else.
If you muck it up in life and go about sin'n as you please... you have damned your self. You can not blame God for what you did, or did not do. God do'nt damn anyone it is each individuals free will choice to damn himself if he so chooses... so dont cry about it when you have to pay the consequences.

Cain hid from God in the garden. He knew he did wrong. What difference does it make whether or not it was in our destiny. We still have a choice and God is not mocked. He is the all powerful and able to do both at the same time. Whether it be in the destiny he is able to write a different chapter in each book of our lives. In the beginning was the word.

God didn't plan our lives out like that. His plan was for us to come to earth so we could have experiences. He put us here to make choices. It's up to us how we choose. He gives us guidelines on how to make decisions in a way that will make us better people so we can be like him.
