How can muslims say that their religion is peaceful when a large majority of the terror and violence is coming out of the nations where islam is the main faith?

Yes Christians do have alot of blood on their hands...in fact, I just saw a couple of CHRISTIANS blowing themselves up in the streets and oh yeah, weren't those people who flew those planes into the world trade center Christian? I must be mistaken...forgive me!

Sweetness, fundamentalism is dangerous whether or not its from Islam , Buddhists (although that might be interesting) or Christianity. Christians used to be (and still are...) a very militant sect. It's not funny when any holy Name is used for violence.

I'm a christian. I live in Romania so we're not so far from the Islamic world, as location I mean. The people of Islam have been oriented to a dead end road. It is correct that the jihad is the holy war, but how can anyone start it? If a false prophet tells you to jump off a bridge, you as a muslam would do it wright? We have had along the years false prophets, but the religion is mainly based on the Bible so any influences from outside of literature is very low in intensity. We trust our Ecumenical Patriarchs, which we consider enlightened men but not holy. They become holy after the cleric leaders decide to make him a saint. That's usually after their death. The Muslam religion , Islams is a peaceful religion, but people that guide themselves after their own purposes and gains. A prophet will come to be in the future of the human race. You can call Him Jesus, the Allah incarnate, or the real flesh Buddha. ( Please excuse me if I have written the name of these god's badly, I don't know how to write them correctly), and this person will bring peace through all the religions on Earth. Until then I don't think Jihad will be extinguished.

We here in the USA follow are president to war and are country is mad up of many Catholics so how can the Catholic religion or the Lutheran or any god given religion be peaceful with hat spread through out every were? I'll tell you some people are peaceful son are not it cant be determined by a city, state gender, race and not by what country you live in!!!!!!!!! My question to you is how can you say that your religion is peaceful when a large majority of the people in your country rape Little Innocent children, murder people for drugs and money, people abusing people, and so much more??????????????

Actually the ones flying planes into the WTCs probably WERE christians, since it has been proven time and time again that Muslims had nothing to do with it and it was staged by your own stupid president.
Get over yourself. Bush claims to be xian, so it stands to reason that Islam has been extremely unfairly scapegoated because a greedy idiot in the whitehouse wants oil that doesn't belong to him, when in fact there is plenty of oil not being tapped into near california.

Christainity has much more blood on it's hands than Islam, do a little research. You tend to look at the present moment instead of the entire history of humankind.

It's all about perspective.

If you grew up in Iraq and were taught that Christians were evil from birth you would probably believe it. The punishment for considering Christianity as a religion in a place like Iraq would be a savage beating as a child or being put to death as an adult.

So you've been told all your life that Christians are evil and that becoming a Christian is so evil that you have to be executed. Then one day a bunch of them invade your country, bomb it up, kill your brother and your father who were just defending their homeland. They imprison people without trial, torture people, rape and murder people. Your religious teachers say, "See we told you these evil infidels were horrible godless people."

Like I said, it's all a question of perspective.

How can Christians say their religion is peaceful?
Look at their history.
Look at how they oppress other human beings because they don't believe as they do?
Look at how religion...especially Christianity....divides people in the name of unity.
Look at how the religious right has become a puppet show, with the likes of Pat Robertson and the 700 Club mannequins.
Religion, in itself, sets humanity up for division and violence.

There are a lot of bloody religious battles that have been fought aside from the muslims. If you look back in history, you'll find many wars based on the catholic religion and christianity as well.

muslims in general ARE peaceful but its just that some of the people that are causing all the terror in the world are muslims and they believe that the US shouldn't be the world superpower and have the greatest strenght in the world. Since the majority of the terorist that have joined al queda in this are muslims, it's a sterotype.

I like the fact that Sunni Muslims and Shi'ite Muslims take turns blowing up each other. It certainly is the religion of peace and harmony.
