You would be considered as medically disqualified for military service..

in the past few months apprx 9 that ive noticed the requirements have been ridiculously lowered. Just about if you can spell or even pronounce your name your in. There are alot of waivers to get in the army. Most of the time the recruiter will tell you not to bring up any negative topics when you go for you interview. If you try to apply for a prestigious job that requires a clearance of some sort you wont qualify for those positions , because a background check will be conducted. depending on what job/MOS your trying out for thats how in depth they will go through your history. All of this will be done before you even get to basic training. If they catch you during basic your considered a civilian in training and nothing will be awarded to you. If you get caught in AIT depending how long you have been in some schools are 4wks other are 22wks. you might get chaptered out , but it varies. if you wore caught cause you had an episode then you might get a sec. 8. but if for some reason they found out and you had shown no sign of breakdown or anything relating to depression chances are they'll work with you to keep you in.

I'm not entirely sure, but to my understanding depression is considered a incurable (only treatable) mental disorder and that should wind up disqualifying you for armed forces. I don't know if it will show up or not but more than likely it will somewhere along the process, it is the government you are dealing with after all.

You probably would not be accepted, and if you were, and the Army found out about your previous condition, you probably would not receive an Honorable seperation. More likely a General, or Other Than Honorable.

no, you have to technically be off your medication for a year before you are able to join the army.
