how do i get him to shut up without getting him angry?

Find another guy who's not arrogant. That'll knock him down a peg.
Seriously, if this guy thinks he's gods gift to women, then why isn't he cheating - or is he????
I say find a nice guy...one that makes you feel good, not one that tries to make you feel lucky to have him.
I mean if you really want to keep him. Tell him you're getting tired of hearing about how great he is....maybe he should start telling you how great you are?
*sigh* sounds like a jerk to me. One day he'll get old and wrinkly and then he won't be such a stud. Go find someone rich.

I am a film producer and any old Ho' can get onto a mag. or newspaper article. We need to fill in the space every day.
That's why on a slow news day we put a lot of fluff like Doggie tricks and family baby birthdays in the paper.
Even the dead ones have there pic. and name in there. Called the Obituaries. Mabey he will get real lucky and have his second time 'round in that column. -lol-t

He may get angry anyway, but to continue to overwhelm his glory his becoming very old. There is nothing worse then someone constantly bragging about themselves. Just tell him that he is wearing a good thing out, and it is time to stop. Or maybe find something about yourself and keep talking about it. Maybe he will get the hint and stop.

Its just his ego, you can't shut him up. Give him time to play it out. He will definitely stop, it is just a male thing. Be nice and just co-operate with him; the more you get annoyed about it the more it will keep happening. Show him that you are proud of him and eventually it will subside. Egos are like that!

Obviously, he has VERY low self-esteem. He feels he HAS to play this up, because he knows that was his 15 minutes of fame. Maybe you should call him a STAR. Maybe YOU should brag on him. Tell him that he is driving everyone crazy about it, and to let others brag on him, not him brag on himself. I would be thrilled too, and so would you, so cut him a little slack. Let him brag a while, but tell him, "Okay. Your 15 minutes are up."

Explain to him that the more he talks about himself the less others will talk about him and that humility is a character trait you hold in high regard.

from the sound of it, it sounds like he's gonna get mad no matter what you say. just tell him that hearing him talk about that all the time is getting annoying and ask him to stop. sure, he'll be mad but he'll get over it. if not, lose him
