Oh god, don't do that to your body. Instead, try eating 1400 or 1500 calories a day, not 600-800. The excersize time sounds fine, but you have to eat more than that. It's better to be overweight and healthy than a normal weight and starving yourself. Go to www.sparkpeople.com to find out how many calories you should eat, it'll help you out a lot.

In the short run, yes. In the long run, no and you will probably end up A LOT fatter.
You are starving yourself and when you do that, your body is going to slow your metabolism down to a crawl. In addition, you will lose a lot of muscle in addition to fat. You need muscle because muscle burns a lot more calories than fat does, so every lb of muscle you lose is dropping your metabolism.
The two combined means that the minute you try to eat at a more normal caloric level, you will balloon up in weight. Starving causes yoyo dieting and it can be a lot more dangerous to your health than staying fat!
Plus starving yourself is likely to lead to both low energy and the desire to binge. You won't be able to do it for long unless you turn yourself into an anorexic, in which case you'll eventually cause even more dangerous health problems.
If you want to lose weight quickly AND maintain your health, it can really be relatively simple:
1. Go buy the Atkins diet book. Low carb/high protein really has been proven to be the fastest way to lose weight (and has been proven to work better than low calorie). Follow it religiously but do not forget to move past the first phase after a few weeks so you stay interested and healthy.
2. Bump up your exercise and make sure that at least most of the time you are exercising, you are actually working up a good sweat. If you're not putting in much of an effort, you will not see fast results.
3. Add some weight training to your exercise routine. It helps preserve the muscle your body needs to stay strong, healthy and LEAN. Plus you will look better faster.
A great routine would be a full body weight workout (ask the trainer to teach you how to work to muscle failure) 3 days a week, then something cardio and/or fun for 3 days a week.
If you really want to be led by the hand, you can also try the Body for Life program (also a book). It is basically a low carb diet and clearly defined exercise program. It definitely works.
If you do either for 3 months, you will really feel a lot better and will look a lot better too.
And don't forget to drink enough water!

To loose a pound it takes 3500 to burn. If you are planning to loose weight, first check how many calories you should be taking depending in your height.
Even if you don't do nothing your body still burning calories.
I don't recommend you to keep eating 600 calories a day, but personally I don't have a problem with a 800 calories.
When your run for those 30 minutes you are burning about 250-300 calories, so keep up with the hard work.
If you keep eating 600-800 calories a day probably each day you will loose a pound so keep doing it, but not for long because it may harm you health. Keep the 800 calories otherwise your body is going to start to eat your own muscle and you will have injuries while you work out. Good luck keep the hard work.

That low of a calorie intake is considered to be a starvation diet, and, unless you are under a doctor's supervision, you should not eat that little.
Assuming that you are an average adult, you should consume about 1,200 calories a day, and you can still lose weight. When you starve your body, it goes into a kind of shock, and you actually lose less weight than if you eat a balanced, healthy diet.
One good way to diet and not feel hungry all of the time is to eat 5 or 6 small meals per day. Your metabolism will stay higher, and you'll actually lose weight faster. And, definitely keep up the exercise. Don't be discouraged if you're not losing weight as fast as you think you should. When you exercise, you gain muscle, and that helps you burn fat faster. Pay attention to inches in addition to the weight, and you'll feel like you're accomplishing more.

I was eating between 600 and 800 calories a day as well over a long period of time but your body begins to think its being starved and starts to store fat so in effect you gradually begin to put weight on rather than lose it. its a viscious cycle to get out of as its psychological u eat more you think youll put weight on you starve yourself and you lose it. That works for a while but then stops. i lost a stone doing that and have now put it back on and im still only eating between 600 and 800 calories a day so i need to change too. it gets harder after 25 seemingly as your metabolism slows down - so my dietician told me. Have 3 meals a day and keep exercising that way your doing it properly and will continue to lose weight healthily. x

Your excercise levels are fine but your calorie intake is way too low. You may experience rapid weight-loss for about 1-2 weeks but after that your body will go into starvation survival mode. and your weightloss will grind to a halt. You will become demoralised, depressed and will start eating again. Your body will frantically grab and store these calories in case of another famine and, lo, the curse of yo-yo dieting is born, and you will end up enormous.
You must understand, that when your body does not receive enough calories it begins to feed upon itself taking its protein from the muscle (marathon runners know this) and other organs including your bones and teeth. Do it for long enough and the damage to you internals becomes irreversible and you die of organ failure (anorexics know about this) .
You are carrying a lot of weight and your heart is going to be under strain whilst you are exercising - you need to feed yourself to give yourself the energy to workout well otherwise it will be wasted.
Check the GI indexs for food that are slow burning energy (like tuna pasta) and stick around 1600 a day
Good luck x

you should only diet at this rate after seeing your GP as you need food to keep your vital organs healthy. this sort of diet can cause complications when you come off the diet and return to as normal diet the weight will just come back on. Exercise is the best way to diet with a sensible diet plan agreed with your Doctor, and use of a smaller plate,my weight has gone from 20 stone to 14 plus stones over the years and i am now a Diabetic type 2. so more exercise, diet controlled less sugar and bad fats.Peter

That sounds like it is not enough calories for you, even if you are trying to lose weight. The "average" recommended daily caloric intake is around 2000, so even 1200 would be good. You should consult a nutrionist. He/She can help you decide what foods are good/bad and what different things you can do to eat healthier. The exercise is good, because that will burn fat and eventually it can speed up your metabolism, so you can break down the foods you eat better.
Good luck!

First of all, you may make yourself sick. That is not enough calories to properly lose weight. Which leads in to the second issue of you slowing down your metabolism too much from not eating enough food that you actually gain or not lose anything. You sound borderline anorexic. I would consult your doctor first and have him assist you in coming up with a proper diet and exercise plan that will aid in helping you to lose weight, while keeping a healthy body.

That is not enough calories for you. You should be eating around 1200. If you don't eat enough, you won't have the energy to get a decent workout. Get more calories but spread them out throughout the day. Also avoid eating after 6 p.m.
