Dear Celtic,
There are no contradictions in the Bible. The supposed "contradictions" are testing stones God uses to show a person there innermost thoughts. The Bible is God's word and how could God, Who is perfect in ALL attributes make an error? This is the test and, you see, many people have failed it. The reason is mankind does not want to be accountable to God so they try to find contradictions in His commanments. The Bible needs to read with humility and great care. You see when you read or hear the word of God it is like sitting at the feet of the Lord Jesus Christ!! Also the Bible tells us to study...... That is, not to only read but study the word. You must understand that God defines terms not according to the Websters Dictionary but by the Bible itself. One must see how God uses a term or phrase to understand its meaning. For example if you look up the word "honey" and read all the verses that contain that word, you would see that honey is synonym for the Gospel! Many people do not understand that the Lord spoke in parables (Mark 4:34). This does not mean that only where the word "parable" appears but ALL throughout the Bible. The whole Bible is God's Word and so there are going to be parables throughout it. And finally, you must compare spiritual things with spiritual things (1 Corinthians 2:13). You cannot take 1 verse and say "I have come to truth." You must compare Scripture with Scripture and make sure that your conclusion does not contradict anything else in the Bible. That is why most people are in rebellion against God and do not even know it--they have taken a verse out of context and have made a false doctrine.

It doesn't if you don't look for the hidden light.
Genesis: First there is God, one and only. No other name, just God. Where it says the light was split into day and night is the beginning of the parting of the sea through creation, or the Creator. After this point begins a process of naming, from beginning to end for All things relevant between man and woman and God.
Any reference to God attached to a name comes from the Creator, which God put in charge.
If you start with the middle tree in the garden, the psalms of David, it makes tends to make more sense. Infamous words, "surely you shall not die". Very true statement. In the rabbinical sense death is a metaphor for change. Once you learn something what you knew before has changed into something else.
Like everything written, it is intended to provide for All people, and different people see different things. Seek to the living side of the words. Eventually what you learn is that there is a connection to All groups of people through language. Thus the phrase, Living Word.
Fighting over the meaning is seeking to the non living side of the words. Using the meaning of the words to get people to fight over it is seeking to the non living side of the words.
Let the dead bury the dead.
Kristos means "the mind." Some people are more right or left brained than others. Some people walk a middle path.
Matthew - Macro view of psalms
Mark - Micro view of psalms
Luke - the right hand of the middle path
John - the left hand of the middle path
Compass - All of the above.
And Yeshua Y- King James did woman a complement, nothing more. It's die hard zealous Yahudeans that have a problem with woman attaining an equal understanding.
Peace,

It appears, with all due respect, that most people think that the Bible has contradictions because they simply do not understand what they read.
What contradictions did you find? Is there a passage where God tells us not to steal, juxtaposed with another passage telling us that stealing is OK by him? Or did someone find a passage saying that adultery is OK, juxtaposed with a passage saying that adultery is a sin? Probably not. So, what contradiction is confusing you?
I never found any so-called contradictions. Most of the people that I have met who claim that they have found a contradiction are usually using a poor translation, or have come up with some strange miss-interpretation of some obscure passage in order to force some type of contradiction where none exists.
I can usually clear up any so-called contradictions by referring to the footnotes.

The Bible is a series of fables that were all mashed together into one big book. It has been translated and re-translated countless times and heavily edited by various cultures over the past couple of thousand years.
For those that don't think there are contradictions, look it up there are literally hundreds.

It doesn't. People charge such, but there is not one real contradiction in it. There are just passages that take a little reading and a little concentration to understand (2 Peter 3:15).

Because over the course of several translations, and the work of some very wicked men, it has been changed. Some parts have been taken out, and some things have been added. It isn't perfect, but we do the best with what we have.

Show us the contradictions. Ask a specific question about any scripture that you think contradicts itself and you will get many answers showing where you are wrong.

Why do you think the Bible contradicts itself?
Can you show us some examples?

A lot of the things you think are contradictions actually don't deal with the same matters.
