Split your money into half, and do both. You can't take piano lesson while traveling anyway.

Why not do both of them? You need a break from the everyday stress and struggles that you daily encounter. Find out what the vacation will cost, check out the discount websites for travel, hotels and food. Are you a student? There are even more discounts for students which may be helpful to your wallet. This was not the case, some years ago when I was a student. While you are at it, check with the nearby colleges and universities and find out what their charges for piano lessons would be. If you are a churchgoer, ask there about piano lessons. There is a surplus of fantastic church going people who love God and their fellow man. Many will offer lessons at a discount for piano lessons and many fields of study. Read Psalm 35 to (Plead My Cause) to address your concerns. Then remember this, "If God be for us, who can be against us?" - Romans 8:31. Peace and God Bless.

It takes a LONG time to learn to play the piano. You will NOT learn it all in a week or a month. It takes years and years. I know I teach class piano and private piano at a college. It is usually right around five to eight years (depending upon your ability) to be able to play most everything put in front of you. Leaning to plkay the piano is just like learning to paint; It is learning an art form.

No one can set your priorities for you but yourself. How badly did you want to learn to play piano? Is it something you just thought, "Hey, that looks like a fun thing to do this summer!" Or is it a passion that had been denied you until now?
I like that one person's answer where he reminded you that after the travel experience, you have your memories. The music skill learn stays with you, to be taken out, fresh, each time you use it.

Which do you want more? I'd take piano lessons. Travelling is temporary pleasure and you only get the pleasure while travelling. Piano, you want the pleasure just go play some more.

It's obviously up to you, but a vacation is a one-shot deal. Playing the piano can be a source of solace and enjoyment to you for the rest of your life. If it's a choice, I wouldgo with the piano lessons.
