I have often wondered this. Maybe they think Christians are just supposed to be able to take it. There does seem to be a built in bias against Christianity here. The public Schools do a similar thing. My son can go to school and rant and rave to high glory about Buddhism or even Wiccan if he wants to, but the minute he starts with Christianity, he will be punished in one way or the other.

It's never ok to bash another persons beliefs, however you have those that do it and call it free speech (they normally have no beliefs of their own so it's easy to do). In Christianity's case, it's not based on a persons heritage and/or culture (you have to WANT to be a Christian) so you can't cry racism.

Also, although a true Christian belief is pretty solid and set in stone, unlike other religions those who call themselves xtians don't change with the times. For example, what was considered a sin 500 years ago in Islam, is still a sin. What you could not eat 700 years ago as a Jewish person, you still can not eat. Yet, you have those that will say, despite the text, what was a sin 40 years ago, is no longer a sin b/c times have changed and we need to move on, evolve, and get more people in the pews.

Christianity DOES have a solid foundation and does not conflict with itself, tt's just that Christianity is very forgiving (relatively speaking) and those that call themselves xtian hold on to their own belief system despite what the teachings in the Bible state.

The truth is it's not okay! No religion should be bashed by anyone. Religion is a very personal choice, and is one that should be respected even if you personally don't agree with the choice. For example, if your sister were to decide to become a Buddhist after being raised Catholic. You should still respect your sister's decision even if you don't think Buddhism is a wise choice. What it all boils down to is whether or not your faith is right for you. No one has any right to bash another person's faith just because it doesn't agree with their own. So long as it makes you happy and doesn't harm others, than any religion is just as valid a choice as another.

Because, it seems, Christianity is more tolerant to bashing?

Really, it isn't ok. However, it also isn't worth starting a war or killing people. Faith should be above all of that, but some religions aren't about faith. Some religions are about pride. Some are about vengence. Some are about honor. These are all things for which some people would rather kill than use diplomacy.

Faith is an inner feeling more than an external force.

Because Christianity is the majority when it comes to religion and people prefer to root for the underdog. Kind of like, the rest of the world bashes the U.S. and the U.K.

Everything is "bash-able" in my opinion. In fact everything gets bashed... except AIDS... AIDS won't be funny for another 23 years... (its a joke people).

Edit: Above person is right... although everything gets bashed, in this case Religion, it doesn't make it right.

People have to learn eveyone is entitled to their beliefs... even if you don't agree with it. That also means if people bash your beliefs you should respect their beliefs and continue with yours.

I disagree with the solutions the following that say that Christianity can purely be called a faith. Such recommendations are simplistic. Any note would nicely get replaced with yet another (that is what makes translation between languages even achievable). I also disagree with the idea of it as 'existence form' or 'affliction'. interior the case of "existence form," we run into the idea that it parallels 'homosexuality,' that is many times categorized a existence form. it will be puzzling to be a hypocritical gay individual, yet that's straight forward to declare to be "Christian" and yet not act in one of those way. So, one enables hypocrisy and the different does not. call it a 'affliction' is truly supported by using the different poster, yet it style of feels too adverse. I propose, there are different 'issues' that 'spread by skill of populations' (expertise, love, etc.). Your idea that it "exists inevitably, in easily actuality" is problematic to swallow. in simple terms about no individual doubts the idea of 'gravity' (even even as called by using different names in different languages); that's a actuality. There are lots who doubt some or all of Christian doctrine. As such, that's problematic to call it "actual." also, your declare that it "encompasses each and every thing" is likewise questionable. It has adapted to have perspectives on countless matters (e.g., abortion, euthanasia, suicide, marriage, homosexuality, etc.) even if it did not initially cope with those matters (e.g., Jesus not in any respect stated the Intel Pentium processor). the nearest note i visit come back up with that is neither adverse nor useful and does not overextend the idea is the time period "IDEOLOGY". Christianity is an ideology.

Because Christianity is the only true religion. Christian means: Christ like. Since this is the only true religion this is the only one that satan wants to destroy. He does not carry about any of the rest.

Stop playing the martyr. Other religions suffer FAR more at the hands of christians than the other way around.
And Atheists don't hold back on any mythology, we discount them all equally...
