Potok’s Intelligence Project found that the far right as a whole is on the rise. In a recent study, Southern Poverty Law Center documented 803 hate groups operating in the U.S. in 2005, a 33 percent increase since 2000. The Minuteman Project alone has spawned 60 spin-off groups, while continuing to increase its membership.
The rise of the right has everything to do with the politicians’ anti-immigrant crusade in Washington.
“People talk about immigration as if race doesn’t matter, saying ‘No, I don’t have anything against immigrants or Mexicans, it’s just the illegal part of it I don’t like,’” Gonzalo Santos, a sociology professor at California State University at Bakersfield, told the Associated press. “But those are code words. We experience race in this country through issues like welfare policy, anti-poverty programs and now immigration.”
In spite of the growth of the far right and the endorsement of mainstream media, opposition to the racists is growing as well, from community groups to national civil rights organizations. Antiracists and pro-immigrant activists have to expose the Minutemen for the racists they are and directly confront them wherever they appear.

Because pro-illegal immigrant supporters are moonbats who think that every problem can be solved by sitting in drum circles singing "Give Peace a Chance"
When the Islamofacists come across the border hand in hand with Mexican gangs, I hope the first throats cut are the liberal assclowns like Michael Moore and Barbara Streisand.
They think that appeasing the enemy will make them safe? Look at France as a good example of what appeasment does for you. They had 2 months of violent riots that cost them many lives and billions of dollars in damage.

The pro illegal immigration people are socialists and they reject anyone who opposes them.
I don't know how white people wanting there borders, language, and culture protected are racist? The United States was the same for 230 years and now Hispanics want to come in to speak Spanish with no intention to learn English.

If wanting a secure border during a time of war is racist then I am racist. If I want to see harmful drugs coming into my country stopped, and a Mexican is the one that was hauling them and I am happy he got caught color me rasist. If I can help the border patrol round up people coming here who are illegal and potentially a threat to me and my family call me racist. But under no circumstances call me late for dinner!!

Have you heard the interviews with most of these guys, the majority are racist. Not all that want illegal immigration stopped are racist, but you could bet on each of the minutemen being racist and win 98% of the time.

Because by the most part, THEY ARE!!
And to clarify, I'm not for "pro-illegal immigration". But I am for changing the rules in a way to facilitate LEGAL immigration, and until something is done, illegal immigration will continue, and who can blame them?
Instead of condeming people who only want to come here to seek a better life for themselves and their families, you might want to be in their shoes. Don't you want a better life for yourself and yoru family? Why should they be condemned for basically wanting the same thing?

I agree with the first answer.........as a minuteman myself.....I'm all for immigration......as long as they do it LEGALLY. Just because we want the US laws enforced doesn't mean we're racists. Think about this........if someone can just walk across our border, then there's no telling how many terrorists have already arrived to wreak havoc.

i think we should run public announcement ads on TV in Spanish explaining racism because clearly they are confused . But that would be more money we would be spending on them .
