Where does it say that he killed himself? He just allowed the sinners to take his body and crucify him. This was so that all of our sins could be forgiven. I think you need to re-read the entire Bible 10 times till something sinks in.
Oh an note that after he did die he rose form the dead. When he went back to heaven he ascended... so he was killed-rose from the dead, and that's that Jesus still lives.

What mental or spiritual framework do you use?
It is only in the post-Nicaean Christianity that Jesus is equated with God, and even then there are exceptions like Jehovah's Witnesses. This is not the only opinion out there on the nature of Jesus. According to Islam, he was a Prophet. According to Judaism, he was an impostor. According to some Gnostic teachings, he is a Son of God - but a different God, not Jehovah. The answer to your question depends on what you choose to believe the true nature of Jesus is (or was).
His "suicide" can be viewed entirely differently in different religious or philosophical frameworks. If he was a mere human, he just got captured and killed by somebody else - nothing suicidal about it. If he was a super-being of any sort and could avoid the whole thing but went through with it anyway, it's more of an act of courage. If one is to label it as a suicide - it's "assisted suicide" at best. Of course, if you believe that Jesus was God's only begotten son who sacrificed himself for the salvation of the whole humanity - it becomes a topic of an entirely different (and very long) discussion. But even then, he did not strip himself, beat himself up and nail himself onto the cross, so there is no real suicide here.
As for the whole "God killed himself" argument, let me remind you that in most religions of the world God is considered to be immortal. Yes, it's one of many paradoxes about Him: he is omnipotent but can not kill Himself.

W to the T to the Fizzle. Jesus isn't God he's the Son of God. The Romans crucified Jesus because a crowd of angry Jews yelled at them to do it, and that's not anti-semitism it's just true. I don't blame jewish people just the leader of the crowd demanding it, one guy, but I'll say this, since Jesus told Judas to betray him then it is kind of suicidal. Still, he wasn't the one who asked to be actually killed, and didn't literally slit his wrists or anything. He died for our sins dog, don't question it. Embrace it. (That sounds holier than thou I need to go wash myself of something I said I would never sound like.)

Jesus did not commit suicide. He did not inflict any deadly wounds on Himself. The Roman soldiers who carried out the crucifixion did that.
No offense, but it's pretty alarming some of the lengths to which people will go in order to attempt to discredit Christianity.

I'm sorry, think about it, if you ALLOW someone now adays to kill you, basically, you want them to kill you, ur suicidal. Its basically like that doctor did,....his patients didnt kill themselfs, he did it for them, but its still suicide. A lot of people here are WAYYY too in over their heads with this and dont take the time to look at things in a different light.

certain, the Almighty God did use His Son, Yeshua (Jesus) to be a human sacrifice for the sins of the people of the earth. even although our human concepts would attempt to make us see this reward as something incorrect or undesirable, that's actual the purely way we people would were kept. From the very second that guy (Adam) committed the first sin of disobedience Almighty God severed Himself from guy. guy become advised to sacrifice animals for the atonement of his sin, yet he kept sinning and the sins were given even worse. the purely way for guy to have the ability to have a courting with Almighty God become for the finest Lamb to be sacrificed for our sins. Now, by skill of Yeshua's blood sacrifice we are able to communicate with the Ruler of the Universe - Almighty God. The Lord Yeshua did not dedicate suicide, yet He did provide up His existence freely so as that the people of earth might want to stay. Be Blessed:-)

Jesus didn't kill Himself. He allowed Himself to be killed as the ultimate and neccessary sacrifice.
Don't forget: He knew He was coming back, also, and that He was doing God's will.

The origin of suicide as a mortal sin comes from Catholicism. In order to be forgiven you must confess your sin to a Priest. You can not confess about your suicide because you are dead therefore unforgiven.
