I baked a lasagna last night. When it was finished I set it out to cool, but I accidentally left it out all night. It was no more thn 60 degrees in the kitchen. Do you think it is still good?

Thanks all for the advice. I decided to throw it out. Killing a newborns mother would just weigh too heavily on me.

No. Perishable food should never be away from refrigeration for more than two hours. This is true even if there are no meat products in the lasagna. Foodborne bacteria that may be present on foods grow fastest at temperatures between 40 and 140 degrees F and can double in number every twenty minutes.

Another answer said that reheating the lasagna would make it okay to eat. That isn't true -- reheating food may not make it safe. If food is left out too long, some bacteria, such as staphylococcus aureus (staph), can form a heat-resistant toxin that cooking can't destroy.

Because your overnight kitchen temperature kept your food within the "danger zone," your lasagna -- as sad as it is & as good as it looks -- isn't safe to eat.

Most would say toss it beacuse 60 degrees isn't really a safe temp for prepared food, but I wouldn't worry too much...I've eaten macaroni & cheese that was left out all night and I was fine...

Yes, but make sure you reheat it to a high enough temp to kill bacteria. Microwave it till it's steaming hot.

It may be good, but I wouldn't take a chance to get food poisoning. Make yourself a sandwich.

i would say yes it is ok, as long as it was hot from the oven. don't serve it to others, eat it yourself just in case.
in a foodservice situation i would throw it out.

I doubt it. It's not good to leave dairy products out.
