Basic Human Instincts cause hate. It is entrenched into our being to hate over a variety of reasons. Centuries ago, it was thought that there were seven deadly sins which caused problems for humanity. Faith or no faith, most of the problems of the world stem from these human traits.

Greed-We want what we want and more than we need
Envy-We want what we can't have
Lust-The very nature of our beast
Gluttony-Too much of anything isn't a good thing
Pride-We are #1!!
Wrath-An eye for an eye
Sloth-Why bother?

On a personal scale, the reasons I hate everyone I hate can be broken down to these traits in my character. Either they did one of these to me...or I did to them. The ex-boyfriend I hate, was lustful for another girl and cheated on me. Now I'm filled with wrath. I hate my boss, who is younger than me, because I can be lazy sometimes (sloth) and he worked harder than I did to get there...or maybe I was envious because he knew someone who got him there. See, I'm number one in anything I do (pride) and I always have to win.

I can keep going with that one.

On a global scale, we'll turn to world events. The Jews wanted their homeland back (envy), but Muslims didn't want to share (greed). So, the 'Westerners' interviened (pride) and gave the Jews back their homeland. There has been fighting ever since (wrath). Most of the world hates 'Americans' because of all the money they have (envy) and all the things they have in excess (gluttony). They also view us as lazy (sloth).

This can go on as well.

The only addition I would make to this is fear. Fear of not knowing what will happen can be a powerful motivator to act on ones thoughts. The police are here. I can't run, I don't know what they'll do to me. I hate those cops, always going after people like me because I'm (*fill in the blank*). Only reason I robbed that store is because I needed money for that bag of crack I smoked. Guess I'm going to have to shoot at them.

What 'sins' are in that story?

If you've never, see Se7en. It goes over all these.

Hatred is a term used by people who don't really know what they are feeling at that time.

This is a basic emotional term used when someone is feeling hurt, sad, fear, bitterness, anger and sometimes regret. This usually comes about when another person who is close to you is involved.

Take this example: Do children really mean they hate their parents when they say that?

No. They are feeling hurt, angry or sad because they didn't get their way or what they wanted. I think that this is even how adults act at times. A lot of the time it is because the individual who is in hatred mode just doesn't have an educated view on the situation.

Actually, hatred spawns from within everyone's subconscious biological instincts. It's just a matter of survival. Your body is programmed to adapt and subsist at any means necessary so when someone or something bothers any aspect of your means to live comfortably, your body will label it as a threat.

Here's a fun example. Let's say I propose an idea that is contrary to your beliefs. "Seagulls are robots." I say that as a fact. On some level you will resent me because I oppose your way of thinking. This absurd viewpoint is essentially a criticism of your own view, a view in which you hold to be true. This conflict to your mental process is potentially a poison to your method of thinking. Basically it is no different than a physical attack.

Hatred stems from fear of the unknown, following groups with certain beliefs that promote hatred, and personal experiences that may be negative which contributes to hatred of a group rather than just perhaps an individual.Have a great day.

Ignorance causes fear-----fear causes hatred. Hatred is still a very strong passionate emotion. Hatred, however, is not the opposite of love----indifference is the opposite of love.

I'm assuming that you're talking about a person being prejudice. I do not believe that a person is born prejudice, it is shown and taught to them. What I find unfair is, when a person (regardless of race) holds it against you, for being the same color, of the person, that did them wrong. For instance, I had a friend, who's cousin liked African Americans, until she was robbed and beat up by a couple of them, now she is afraid of and dislikes all African Americans, just because of that one incident. When I see her, I still speak to her, rather she responds or not because I know, that is what God, would want me to do. I can understand her pain, but it's not fair, to hold it against me, just because I am of the same race, of the people that beat her up. I will not let her ignorance, keep me from many many blessing's. All I can do, is pray for her and hope that some day, she'll have a change of heart and stop blaming all African Americans, for what those idiots, did to her.

Ego and pride causes hatred.

When a person attaches to his own ego, there is the extreme mind of acceptance. Therefore, automatically feels hatred to what is not the *self*. An extreme mind of rejection of the *other*.

Every problem on earth comes from attachment.

I feel there are several reasons people hate. I honestly believe past experiences can have much to do with it. I have an understanding that feeling anger and hate are much easier and socially acceptable than being sad or hurt. Hate can stem from misunderstanding certain people, ideas or lifestyles. When I was a child I cried to express myself, as I got older I was told stop crying, (real men dont cry) toughen up ect. Even a holiday song- "you better not cry, you better not pout" I get the message, DONT FEEL. At young ages people are trained to become dehumanized if you will. Think about it, in a circle of friends what would go over better? Oh, I hate that guy/girl, or stop laughing at them, (as you walk over to talk with the person? People criticize the 60's and 70's quite often, as well as what they believe to be idealistic. Like peace, kindness, Love ect. without wanting anything in return. Try to eliminate the hate from your vocabulary and heart. Try to be a better person not for others, but for yourself and others in return will benefit as much as you.
Peace
