unless you two are really really really in love and committed to each other - it just doesn't work.

They never work! How do you truly get to know a person if you are not there to see how they are throughout daily trials and tribulations? That is why so many marriages fail because people don't know the person they marry. Someone typing something in e-mail or a chatroom could be typed by someone else. Talking on the phone is just lip action. Being face to face with a person forces them to show you they are genuine about the things they say. The person you are getting to know could be in prison or a child molester.
It is a little different if it is someone you have known for a while and then there is some geographical distance between you. You know that person but you just need to keep the relationship going until you can be together again.

Take it from me, they're tough as hell. But, the good news is that they can work! My college roommate of four years didn't even meet his college girlfriend until three months before he and she left for college. She was already signed up to go to a small school in Kentucky while he was inked to go to a small school (where I went) in Washington State. For four years, they saw each other only in the summers and occasionally on holidays, but they called and talked on the phone as much as they could. And, they trusted each other and were honest with each other. Now, they're happily married for two years and expecting child. They had a few bumps, but because they were so comfortable talking about everything, they made it work.
It is possible, just can be rough.

Like this saying says,"Long Distance Relationships Never Last.."
Think about it and you'll understand..
But if you don't, it means if you two was meant to be together and you both are in long distance relationship, you two will soon be together..
If you two wasn't, you both will brake up!
So that's what it means by "Long Distance Relationships Never Last.."

i think that if 2 people really love each other, the distance should not be a problem. they understand and trust each other enough to work it out. it did not work with me because im in love with him for 9 month and he in love with me or a weeks and he only goes out with me because it the last week of school. but ........................
