As a chemical enginer I must say yes. However, there is a reaction whenever any substance is permitting to enter a cell. This is because the substance is typically broke down into smaller more usable substances in the stomach and then those chemicals are distrubed to the body. Therefore they typical effect most systems. Now I do not know the chemical reactions that do occur in the smotach but i can tell you that the chemicals are then permitting to enter the blood stream and sometimes the chemical is permitting in the blood stream without occasionally breaking down. When Alcohol enters the blood stream in a closer to pure form it thins the blood it does not cause major chemical reactions though when it thins the blood it just dillutes the blood.

There is no chemical reaction to your blood when you drink beer. The beer is adding alcohol into your blood stream thru your stomach and intestines. The kidneys will filter it out over the course of several hours. Other than that, you get drunk when your blood alcohol level goes up. Most states the blood alcohol level of .10 % means you're legally drunk. However, in Washington DC it's .08% and they got ya.
