You mean they didn't recognize the Western interpretation of Jesus through art...because that doesn't actually have any bearing on what He REALLY looked like.
Kids recognize Ronald McDonald because he's a frickin' clown with red curly hair. Abe and Jesus are just normal-looking dudes. Abe has the upper hand on Jesus though, because he's got the top hat going for him.
What you're saying doesn't really MEAN anything if you know anything about children.

well, mcdonalds feeds the little children, and jesus is just sorta, obsolete with no real brand identity
i dont think its a fair comparison of the same thing, since the "image of jesus" is different
of course, these same kids couldn't point out north korea on a map, or explain why theres a north and south korea, or why the map is a faulty projection of the land surfaces of the northern hemisphere from the southern hemisphere, so, are we surprised?
a bunch of people said yea! we are winning,
no this means mcdonalds is winning,
theism is losing of course but not cause of mcdonalds, but because god isn't real, and people will with time examine and say, yes historically this god concept is a god of the gaps where science wasn't yet able to explore, no microscope, no telescope, but now with technology we are able to explore and get answers, and thus the need for "uhh, it was god" will be obsolete

I agree...Kids should be kids. They should know Ronald McDonald at a young age. When they are older they will learn about Lincoln and when they are old enough to make a decision they can decide if they want to learn about god and if they do they can choose their own religion.

i read your question and bought 100 shares of McDonalds stock.
thats the way our society works. its a consumer-based world, and mcdonalds is selling us things, whereas jesus doesnt pitch products, and honest abe just sits there on the $5 bill.

It would seem that very few children are taught history or culture & even less are taught religion - but everybody eats Happy Meals. Cut off the tv, teach your children to read. Take them to museums & parks, take them to church. I know there are people who do this -
