Are you pertaining to the bible? I think the life that Christ sacrificed was EARTHLY, and what was resurrected was HEAVENLY? He had 2 different lives and 3 persona... that;s mind-boggling though.

Regarding the question "If you know you can resurrect yourself after sacrificing your life, won't it make you more self-sacrificing?"... I guess. Agrees.

"What then is the point of sacrificial love if you know you will be resurrected?"... at least you undergo through the sacrifice, like how you died. Again, citing the passion of Christ, what he went through before he died wasn't easy...are you willing to be crucified, whippied and all that just for love's sake?

Jesus knew He would be resurrected, but it was still a supreme sacrifice to take on the sins of the world and be whipped and nailed to a cross.

You would probably survive having all the skin flayed from your body, especially if it was done slowly. Wanna try it?

It is not the point that Jesus new He would live again, it was the fact that He endured such pain and suffering, and the ultimate punishment, seperation from God, as payment for sins that we had not even committed yet.

Some folks just don't get it.

Not if you know what your death is going to be like, I mean come on, I don't care if I was going to be resurrected, I wouldn't want to be flogged and crucified and then sent to hell for 3 days.
