In my opinion, the only way love & lust can co-exist, is if you're married. Unfortunately, you're asking for trouble. The best way to lose a friend is to have sex with this person. Lust is the body's way of seeking satisfaction, without the commitment. If you feel, like it's worth a shot, go for it; for it is better to have loved & lost, than never to have loved at all. On the other hand, you can view it through an old person's heart. Once we can no longer have sex, is this person going to be my friend, for the rest of my life? Friendship is the key to any relationship, just make sure that respect, honesty & trust is there. If a person lusts after you, chances are, this person will lust after someone else. After all, lust is one of the seven deadlys. No, I do not think it is o.k. to be in love & lust @ the same time. Hope it works out well for you. Take Care & Be Cool!

Hello Jody, Let us start with a well-worn cliche, "life is a learning experience. " To have lust is part of being human, the same as love is part of being human. By learning humans can become better & when they do that they gravitate toward the positive. When humans learn and become worse by doing so, they then move toward the negative. Therfore humans are continually moved to the positive & negative, which in a nut shell is the reason for their anxiety, tension, frustration, suffering, misery, degradation, etc. etc. One minute they love, the next minute they hate. The orientals term our being subject to this continuous struggle - as " the pairs of opposites. " At one time we are elated, another time we are depressed or in despair. A good way to proceed through the human condition is to learn to accept your humaness. Don't allow your mind to get too caught up in these extremes. Learning to develop balance will help you through lifes journey. Now to give you some direct reply to your question. Love comes from the positive. Lust has it's root in the negative. Lust is one of the " deadly five " vices - lust, anger, greed, attachment & egotism to be avoided, as written in all eastern scriptures. Lust is not limited to sex. Lust is the inordinate appetite, hunger or craving for anything, be it food, money, power, etc. So what I would advise you to do is try to realistically decrease your lusting in a gradual way. Again accept your human condition. Don't beat yourself up about it. Try to sublimate your desires as much as you can, rather than repressing them. Do that knowing ever higher states of love is the goal for God's gift of the human form to you in this very life. True Love can turn the human nature into divine. The highest & purest Love culminates in Divine Love & that state ignites the fire of the souls Love for it's Creator & His Creation. That is the manefestation of your soul longing to rejoin it's Source. God is an endless Ocean of Divine Love. Our souls are but separated drops of that divne essence. Our life is short, the journey of Love is long. Good Luck on your journey.

Lust is great. If your man/woman lusts for you as well as loves you, you got it going on! Lust is a very powerful feeling, it is all encompassing. As long as it's you they lust for, I see absolutely nothing wrong with that at all.

Every thing good is balanced. It's healthy to have a balance of love and lust, just make sure that it's a balance and that lust doesn't override love.

If either of you were mature enough to be in either a love or lust relationship you would not need an answer to this question.

Yeah it's okay as long as it's with the same person. You shouldn't be in love with one person and in lust with another.
