Go buy one of those tablets you used in first grade and a couple of #2 pencils and practice, practice, practice until you get it right. If that still isn't working get one of your friends to stand over you with a ruler and whack your knuckles everytime you make a mistake or whine about how you have better things to do.

Your choice of writing tool has no effect on your penmanship. Go to your library and take out a book on penmanship, or buy one, and just PRACTICE. Use several different writing devices, such as pencil, fountain pens, crayons, and markers. A few minutes a week and soon you'll have people commenting on how beautiful your handwriting is.

Actually that is not why it has "deteriorated." It is because we no longer write as opposed to 20 years ago and our handwriting is sloppy because we do not exercise that part of our hand. Personally, I like the gel pens because it takes less pressure to write. I do miss the written word!

the worst thing you can do is buy an inky pen, trust me. the best thing for now is to carry on practising, with the same pen. Only practise until you think it is readable, because sooner or later everything will be done by computers anyway, so theres no point in practising to perfection.
