Honestly - yeah, its a bit of a turn off for me. I'm not a vegetarian and this could prove to be a bit of a problem for even fundamental aspects of dating and getting to know each other.

It's great to find out new things about people who stimulate or intrigue you.
People are more interesting when they choose to live a certain lifestyle because they have a passion for something in particular (in the case of vegetarianism, perhaps it is more of a compassion[!]).
I am not speaking for "guys" but only for me.

Call any vegetable
Pick up your phone
Think of a vegetable
Lonely at home
Call any vegetable
And the chances are good that a vegetable will respond to you
No one will know if you don't want to let 'em know
No one will know unless it's you that might tell 'em so
Call and they'll come to you covered with dew
Vegetables dream of responding to you
A lot of people don't bother about their friends in the VEGETABLE KINGDOM. They think, "Ah, what can I say? What can a person like myself say to a vegetable?" But the answer is simple, my friends . . . just call . . . and tell them how you feel . . . about MUFFINS, PUMPKINS, WAX PAPER, CALEDONIA, MAHOGANIES, ELBOWS AND GREEN THINGS IN GENERAL . . . and soon: A NEW RAPPORT! You and your new little green & yellow buddies . . . grooving together! OH NO! Maintaining your coolness together! Worshipping together in the church of your choice! ONLY IN AMERICA!
Call any vegetable
Call it by name
You gotta call one today
When you get off the train
Call any vegetable
And the chances are good that the vegetable will respond to you...

It definitely raises a red flag for me. I don't want to be with someone that's a big health freak. I'm by far no fat ***, I work out 5 times a week and run 8 miles a week but I love to eat anything.

It depends. I mean if you aren't pushing your views of what others can and can't eat ... not many would really care. But no one likes "a lecture", or anyone poking fun or rude comments about the food they are eating. So .. eat & let eat ... and talk about other things that you have in common when on the date.

As long as you where not making nasty comments about what I eat it would be no biggy, I would predict a lot of chinese or thai or buffets as far as dinners out though so I could get you something you would eat.
