They may be smarter in a streetwise sense, but not intellectually. Generally they spend too much time playing computer games which hardly teaches them anything more than violence with an American accent. Not knocking Americans, just stating the fact that British children's audio games all have American accents these days

They aren't, they are just focused in different areas. Kids now have computers that they focus on, so they know more about computers than kids 10 years ago did. They seem to know less of common sense though.

I would definitely say they're NOT.
For one, most of today's kids don't know how to do basic math without a calculator...Or tie their shoes, for that matter, since they all have velcro.
Our children are becoming more and more incompetent and incapable with each generation.
I'm looking forward to the day when this trend swings back in the other direction, and we realize as a society that we need to teach our children how to do something for themselves.

Edited to replace facetious answer...
You are assuming that they are smarter. What evidence do you have for this?
Every generation believes it is smarter than the one before; then they grow up and discover just how difficult life really is.

Because they have access to much more technologically advanced devices such as computers and the internet. And, children's learning skills have increased because a lot of the toys and learning tools are presented them on computers. They learn and play games at the same time.

Because they are innocent and selfless creatures on the earth; The plain mirror of mind and pure & blank Hard disk in body. They have no difference between the people regarding their cast, religion, breed, race and nationality....
whole world is same for them except their father and mother.

It also depends on what you call "smarter"... In my opinion, kids now days have less respect than I did at their ages... Not all but some...
Knowledge is good if you know where to use it?

The technology that we have, it expands the mind of a child. I think that this is great, but children also need physical activity in their lives and not spend all their time with electronics.
