I think of energy, love,or laughter; because if i were capable of being anything i chose to be, those make the most sense.

The Bible refers to Him so that makes Him a male.
God the eternal Father is the Creator, Source, Sustainer, and Sovereign of all creation. He is just and holy, merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness. The qualities and powers exhibited in the Son and the Holy Spirit are also revelations of the Father. (Gen. 1:1; Rev. 4:11; 1 Cor. 15:28; John 3:16; 1 John 4:8; 1 Tim. 1:17; Ex. 34:6, 7; John 14:9.)

Interestingly enough, I think of neither. To me, God is above the distinctions of male/female. Nor is God any particular colour. God is simply there, a supreme being, with whom I can communicate in moments of need, in moments of stress, in moments of joy. When I'm out paddling in my boat, riding the waves, feeling the sun on my face, listening to the birds, and the sound of the waves against my hull, I know there is a God, and that God is everywhere. To me, God is so much larger than the petty human formats that people sometimes use, that I find them demeaning.
God just IS, and I am grateful.

IN ISLAM
God has got no gender.
He is unique.
The word "Allah" literally means itself, "The only one worthy to be worshipped". "Allah" comes from the Arabic word "elah" - (Arabic) means 'a god' or 'anything that is worshipped'. In Arabic "Al" means "The". Al-elah combines makes "The god", but it still doesn't mean what "Allah" means, because this could still be made plural. This word (elah) can be made plural, as in "aleha" and it can be male or female, and Allah does not have any gender. Therefore, the word "Allah" is perfected way to describe "the God", because it cannot be made plural, nor can it be made into a gender of either male or female.

When I was little I pictured God as like a giant wooden soldier, maybe that has something to do with how I turned out now...

When I think of God, I think of a supreme entity, spirit, being. If god created us in his image, then how can we just be one kind?
