If Felipe Calderon wins the presidency, you better get ready for illegal immigration. He's from the same political party as Fox (PAN), and like Fox once said, he's good for exporting PEOPLE to the U.S. Unemployed and people with low paying jobs, prepare for another 6 yrs. of torture.
Calderon will help the rich to get richer, and send the poor to the U.S. Obrador is in favor of helping the poor.

Too bad Calderon is still on lead, and it looks like he's going to win but Obrador whould be the new president.

So are you ready for more illegals???

Well, looks like Calderon won.

I was kind of saying the same thing to myself, except that I didn't have confidence Obrador could swing universal education which in my opinion is what your country needs. However, I did think there was at least an outside chance that he would do something brilliant and unexpected, whereas we all know what Calderon will do.

Not to cut Calderon down, overall I wanted him to win for stability reasons and because I think you can count on him to at least make things incrementally better for Mexico. I didn't really have confidence that Obrador would be able to deliver.

As it is, though, I think Obrador should stop the challenge. It will hurt the country and tarnish his image. A recount is one thing, but observers are saying it was fair, so why go beyond that? I understand Calderon offered him a Cabinet position, and Calderon can't get any laws passed without some sort of coalition, the way your 'Congress' is split. Obrador could set himself up well for an election next time, or look like he won't accept the rule of law.

Do people really think it was fraud? Or are they just trying to intimidate a change in results?

That's why I wanted Obrador to win, Calderon will only make the rich richer, like you said.

No - we aren't ready. I explain it like this.....I had two children - they were planned and we were able to take care of them growing up. Now, if all of a sudden 12 more showed up at my door, I would not be able to care for them. We, as a country, can not take on another country - we're doing that now and with the identity theft they have to do in order to work, the fact that they are driving on the roads that they pay nothing for because they don't pay income taxes and the fact that there are so many with no money going to the hospital where my husband works, the hospital's losing resources. Sure, hospitals do overcharge but people are going to lose their jobs because the hospital still can't handle these monetary losses!!

The country needs to enforce the laws governing immigration it has standing now instead of just looking the other way. If they did they would deport all that they catch here illegally.

I do not have a problem with people coming into the country as long as they go through the process. Our country is built upon people coming here from other countries, other cultures searching for a better way of life. Of course now it is much harder to work and live in this country just as it is in most others in the world.

I have nothing against anyone who wants a better way of life, but it needs to be done legally. My husband is from England and I know all to well what a person has to go through to work and live in this country. It cost a lot of money, a lot of time and of course the never ending red tape.. still if people are willing to come and go through all that then I say let them stay, let them live, let them work in our country..

I'm poor as hell, I live in an area with large amounts of immigrants, both with papers and without, and I have NEVER lost a job to an illegal immigrant. Neither has anyone I know. You want to pick crops and keep moving on, never owning a home or staying in one place long enough to meet your neighbors, all for a couple of bucks a day? Then you can ***** about immigrants. Otherwise, you're just fussing.

I am so tired of the effects that illegal immigration is having on this country. I found a great website about illegal immigration, it even has a link to an auction that has been set up to raise funds in the fight against illegal immigration.

I think even you are a bit too late in addressing the illegal problem in this country.

It should have been addressed say 20 years ago, when it was actually manageable. No matter who wins the presidency, the PROBLEM will remain. Nothing will change unless this govt. puts hard restrictions on business and ENFORCES them.

Last I looked PRD was in the lead. Plus I dont imagine that the president will suggest that more people come illegally. Regardless, no one here can do much about it either way.

My opinion: I don't know the percentage, BUT - the work that the immigrants do do, is work that the average American will NOT do!
Because it's hard work at minimum wage! Then they want benefits,

And these Rich M.F.'s won't pay - so what else to do but hire immigrants.

Again, it's the rich causing all these problems!

IT'S MY LADY FRIEND IN MEXICO COMING BACK TO VISIT. How the heck are you? I was wondering where you have been because I haven't seen you post lately. I hope all is well there, and drop me a private line if you would like to do it.

I better answer your question before someone reports me. We are ready.
