(They are out of town and can not use them. And now I am unable to use them as well.)

I've got some great answers. Here's a little more detail. These are Nascar tickets. I live in a city where people aren't interested in that. So I don't know of anyone that wants them, I've asked around. The person that gave them to me told me if I didn't want them to "just get rid of them".

no they were a gift to you---you are then free to do with them what you want---including selling them---which you took the TIME to do..and they did not

NO YOU DON"T HAVE TO GIVE HIM THE PROCEEDS.

HE GAVE YOU THE TICKET IT IS YOURS TO DO WHATEVER YOU WANT!!

IF A PERSON GAVE YOU A PRESENT AND YOU DON'T WANT IT... THEN YOU CAN SELL IT AND KEEP THE MONEY!

IT IS THEIR FAULT THEY GAVE YOU THE TICKET AND IF THEY WANTED TO SELL IT THEY SHOULD HAVE SOLD IT THEMSELVES.

YOU ARE SMART TO SELL IT!! SO KEEP THE PROCEED TO YOURSELF>>IF YOU GAVE THE TICKET O SOMEONE ELSE THAT PERSON MIGHT SELL I T TOO AND KEEP THE MONEY!

YOU DID NOT ASK FOR THE TICKET IT WAS A GIFT TO YOU! YOU CAN DO WHATEVER YOU WANT!

You should not profit off a gift, if the person gave you tickets you are not able to use, you should offer them back to the person, if they refuse then respond to that persons charity with charity and give them to another person.

Someone was kind enough to give them to you, you should pass on the gesture. If you already sold them give it back to your gifter, they paid for them, there's a reason they didn't go, if you don't use them, they should "recover" some of the loss.

They are yours to sell and keep the money for. If they wanted money for them, they would have sold them to you. You need not even tell them you sold them, just that you did not go. Good luck.

Split the money with them.
That way neither gets all.
Your friend paid, you did the work in finding a new buyer.

Why not pass the good fortune on to someone else and make their day? Give them away!

I think that you should sell them and give your friend the money. It's only fair, you didn't pay for them.

if some one GAVE them to you, you should continue the giving process and give them rather than sell them.

Why don't you simply give them to someone?
