I am fasting on fruits, veggies, water & 100% juices but at times I crave unhealthy food or I get so hungry when I go to get those things I get something else that I shouldn't that breaks my fast what can I do?

Or is there something I can eat that is healthy that will not make me crave these foods or replace the craving so that I have less down falls of will?

Also, I bought natural crackers before I started fasting they are gone now but if they are natural can I have them and still be considered fasting if I buy more and eat them, would they be working against me or with me? I realize they are baked but the natural thing confused me and they are yummy and fill the emptiness!

Just to be healthy and to loss about 5 to 10 lbs I used to go to Native American sweats and we fasted for three days but then it was easly and now I am challenged. Haven't fasted in 7 years. I will not be attending any sweats this time either so the longer the days the better.

"fasting" is a complete lack of food. Ditch all of your food, just drink water.

Depending on your age (if you're young, have heart disease, doing it purely to lose weight, or are pregnent, don't do it) doing it for up to 21 days can be extremely healthy.

Doing it how you are, isn't. Your sugar levels are bounding all over the place, making you tired, hyper, grumpy, sore, etc. It will also make you gain alot of fat.

When you drink only water, your body will go through a 3 day withdrawl period where you will get lightheaded and such, but after that (called Ketosis), it will start feeding off of the nutrients stored in your body fat.

As long as you are fasting (1 week, 2 weeks, 3 weeks, whatever), you need to take that long before you start eating regularaly again.

Whether you are doing it for religious, or health reasons, if you have anything more then water, it's just a funky diet that'll make you feel bad, and gain fat.

It honestly is NOT as hard as it sounds. Your body after the 3 day period won't have any cravings because it will be feeding itself. Anything you have is purely mental, or just "I want to eat because I'm bored" kind of thing.

Fasting to lose weight is usually counter productive, because your body was starving and eating itself, any nutrients you give it back afterwards, it will immediatly store as fat. That healthy banana could make you gain 1 pound. Come off of it with small amounts of plain white rice, and steamed veggies.

Are you dieting or fasting? Fasting is traditionally bread and water, now fasting by Catholic standards is one average meal a day and two small snacks, no meat or fish included. Hope that helps you.

May I ask why you're fasting? It would be a little easier if we knew the reasoning behind it to give a more thoughtful answer. TY.

Almonds fill you up they are good when you feel hungry.

But if you want sweets just eat some grapes.
