IF you think gay marriage is wrong:
Please tell me your defition of immorality as well as you can. Then please explain how you think that gay marriage fits within that definition.
I am hoping to get more than "Because the bible says so" because the bible also says that we should kill someone who wears 2 different materials, hardly immorality by anyone's definition. But if that's all you have, go for it.

If creation of life is natural and "unnatural" is immoral, does that mean that a 60 yr old woman marrying a 90 yr. old man is immoral?

I didn't say gay parenting, I said gay marriage.
And if you think truth is natural, you must never have had children.

Sacrifical Lamb, that's a pretty broad definition. I think that such a personal definition of immorality would fall apart at the slightest challenge from another person with personal opinions.

BTW, I'm liking these answers so far, a lot of rational thoughts.

Immorality-The quality of not being in accord with standards of right or good conduct. Morally objectionable behavior.
I understand where you're coming from. Gay marriage doesn't fit the definition but we as a people must get along with each other. This doesn't mean we have to like Gay marriages but allow them to live their life (free to be). They aren't asking us to like or love them but accept them and this will be hard for people. In the eyes of many Gay Marriage will never be accepted.

It's wrong because society is not ready to embrace it. Yes, most will use the Bible to condemn it. But socially, this country is not ready just like at one time there were laws outlawing interracial marriage; with time and acceptance gay marriage will be the law of the land. Individuals will be able to have all the rights and privileges that straight married couples have.

Things such as morals and ethics are values we humans create to make it possible for everybody to coexist in peace without ripping each other's head off. But societies evolve with time, and so should our concepts of what's right and wrong. If we are stubborn and refuse to allow changes, we'll be living in the Middle-Age forever.

Immorality in my own words is anything that can be considered deviant. We have a basic sense of what it takes to be moral, so that antithesis would lead to immorality. Unfortunately, our own morality is governed by flesh. What is required to gain entrance to Heaven is spiritually discerned and fleshly maintained, so anything that the Scriptures tell us is of a deviant behaviour is immoral.

I define immortality by what my heart says, I happen to love men and women, so for me to think of 'gay' or 'lesbian' in a bad sense would be immoral to me, as would be judging like-minded individuals. My point? Follow your heart, as long as you do that, it would never be immoral.

Gay marriage is serious because of the children involved. It is fine and good what you do in your homes... we don't care... but when you use children as a political toy to push your agenda... it is time to draw the line.

Immorality is anything that goes against nature. Life is natural, so murder is wrong. Creation of life is natural, so homosexuality is wrong as is abortion. Love is natural, so hate is wrong. Having what you've been given is natural, wanting what your neighbor has is wrong. Truth is natural, so lying is wrong.
