Honestly, there are some 40 years olds that don't deserve to be considered an adult. I think you are considered an adult when you can take care of yourself in a respectable manner. When you can provide for yourself and also when you can act like you have sense. When you can be in an awkward situation, and still come out of it with respect and dignity.

Being an adult is only measured by age for government purposes, but in reality an adult is not calculated by age but rather maturity. There are some 16 year olds who support a household because they have to and there are some 35 year olds who constantly overspend the rent money. An adult should be measured by the maturity level versus years on earth.

It's not a mater of age...it's maturity. I've seen 40 year old adolecents and 10 year old adults.
