There are many commercially available remedies for this problem - I don't think any really work though. One option is to train the dog to go in one area of the yard - you can place wood chips or mulches in that area and keep the rest of the lawn green. Thorough watering of the places it urinates everytime it goes will prevent it (do you have all that time?:)) Some people lay gypsum or lime in the yard and sweat this really does work, go to your local garden center to see which will be best for the type of soil you have

Lead him to a designated pee area. If you want, try a "pee post". I've seen them in pet stores...it's a stake you put in the ground and has an attractant to make them want to pee on it! Never tried one, but it sounds like a good idea. I think the anti-burn tablets are expensive, but they probably work too. I also saw a spray that actually colors the burn marks green and helps them grow back! Having him neutered may help him from having to pee all over, too, if he's not already.

Your dog is going to pee on your yard, but if you take your garden hose and flush the pee spots with lots of water as soon as he/she pees it can help with lawn discoloration Dogs must urinate, do you want it to go on your neighbors lawns and not yours?

paper train him. i mean if he can't go in the yard, where else? i guess you could get him to pee on the driveway, but then you'll get yellow driveway stains.

where do you want him to pee? he's going to do it in the grass, no matter what. you CAN, however, train him to pee in one spot.
