If God can do ANYTHING He wants, including giving Mary a child, that does not mean He is the father. He is the Creator, he can do anything.
Some also claim that Jesus is Lord. If that is the case, then how could God be God's father? And according to some, Jesus died at the cross, so this would mean that their God is dead.

It is all very confusing, and illogical, in my opinion. And for the record, I do believe in God, just know this before leaving judgemental comments.

Thanks:)

The word "God" is a title just like the word "King" or "President".

The title is applied to several individuals. Jehovah is Almighty God, Jesus is a mighty God, Satan is God of this world, Baal was the God of Canaan, the pre-king judges of ancient Israel were gods, and even the angels are called gods, etc etc.

The scriptures refer to the Father as the only true God. "True" meaning absolute or all-powerful in this sense. This doesn't make any of the others 'false gods', per se.

Because the title "God" is applied both to Jesus as well as his Father in the bible, some kooky individuals under the influence of platonism and decided to mix philosophy, the triads of pagan religions (groups or committees of three gods), and Christianity together and made up the doctrine of the trinity in the fourth century after Christ (consult almost any reputable encyclopedia for this fact).

Now the confusion sets in, because trinitarianism tries to say that even though all three seperate people appropriately bear the title "God", there is only one God. Thus, what they are saying in plain english is that all three people are actually the same person. But even though that is what they say, they will say that this is not what they say.

Blah!

You can refer to both Jesus and his Father by the title "God", just like you can refer to both George Bush and Vladimir Putin as "President". Your choice if words is not necessarily incorrect, but you know they are 2 different people (and by extention, 2 different gods).

Nobody would ever try to say that Bush and Putin are "one president".

Get it?

God is not the considered the Father of Jesus because of Mary's virgin birth. Jesus was already with God in heaven before he was born a man to die for us. Thats why he is considered both man and God. He did die on the cross, but remember He was ressurected and ascended back to heaven with His Father.

Personally, I believe that God is the Father and Jesus is the Son and that they are separate people. God and Jesus are so unified in their love for us and their goals that they together they are one God. One in purpose and one in mind - Like in the scriptures when God says that man and women when married become one. Jesus did die on the cross- and his mortal body was dead but His spirit continued to live and after three days his spirit re-entered his body and he became whole again.

That is why this is called a mystery. We do know from the Bible that Christ was with God at the Creation. He is God Incarnate. He took human form for the express reason of our salvation. He died a human death for our sake. He is fully God and fully man. Faith is about believing that which we can not see and one day seeing that which we believe.

"I would rather live my life as if there is a God, and die to find out there isn't, than live my life as if there isn't, and die to find out there is. "

In the bible Jesus does pray to God, his father a number of times, as I recall and even calls out his name. So to me that does in a way make them two separate beings, but they are connected to each other.
John 3:16
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,[a] that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Sir Isaac Newton & Thomas Jefferson were just two people that rejected the Trinity.

And they were very knowledgeable about the bible and history.

Unitarians do not believe in the Trinity.

No, it does not make sense.

I believe in the presence of a supreme being (GOD), but I am not religious.

A huge mind-job of blue pill / red pill proportions.
