My boyfriend and I have been dating several years, but now I think its in both of our best interests for us to move on. The only problem is, he's very emotionally undeveloped, and he insists he'll fall apart without me. I don't want to hurt him, so how can I say good bye?

There really is no easy way to do it. I would just sit him down and tell him preferably somewhere public so he will be less likely to make an enormous scene. Just make sure it is someplace you won't have to go back to if he falls apart. Good luck. While the suggestion to call his mom made me laugh I doubt that will be the best course of action.

He's a codependent. There's nothing outside of him seeking therapy that you can do. Break up with him and stand back for the emotional fireworks. Just make sure you are safe and cannot be harmed ... and I include physically. Why? Ever see "Fatal Attraction"?

Just tell him you can't stand how dependent it is. Let him fall apart. He shouldn't force you to stay if you don't want too. Tell him you don't like emo boys that much anyways and that he should grow up. It's unmanly to cry or let your emotions get to you.

Feed him, **** Him, then tell him to just Forget about it!!!...he'll understand later on in life....pat him on the azz and kiss him good-bye....but you must tell him just like that!!! =)

explain that you are not happy with him and you dont feel the love you should for him. if he loves you back hell understand and let you find your happines and when you do he will be happy with you. if hes just dependant, like with drugs, the sooner you end it the less pain hell feel, and dont feel sorry for him, hell get over it. whatever you do end it asap tho, dont let him on any more.

i would sit down with him and tell him how you feel . by staying with him could hurt him more. nobody deserves to be led on.honestly his hurt will gradually fade.

just find a way to tell him it is not working for u. then tell him that he will of course find someone else and that someone else might be his soul mate.
