I stayed at the Royal Decamaron in May of 06, It was a very nice place. The food is not that great but it fills the gap. If you want to eat better head down the street to the town Bucerius. There are plenty of good Restaurants there. El Lugar and ZA both are great for Pizza. The decamoran has very nice grounds and are kept very clean, The pools are nice and 3 or 4 to chose from. We mostly stayed at the Adult pool in front of block 6. I have been to Puerto Vallarta for the last 7 years and always went in February or March This was the first time we went in May and we loved it no rain at all, and it was hot but that's why you go there, Just stay in the water and drink. June is the start of the rainy season so It is not out of the ordinary to get rained on, and the humidity ought to be really high. I don't think it will rain all the time, remember think positive and have a blast. and congratulation on your Marriage. P.S. The Decamaron is outside of PV about 15 Miles. It will cost you about $20.00 American to get there by Taxi from the Hotel (And 20 back) . I suggest you take a bus because it's way cheaper ( maybe $2.00 American) and the Experience is unforgettable

We were there last July and had thunderstorms and torrential rain especially one night when the streets were flooded down near the marina and the Holiday Inn had quite some damage. But that was at night. The days were miraculously beautiful. Hot but beautiful. DON'T FORGET YOUR SUNSCREEN. Like the other gal says, check out Vallarta Adventure. They have wonderful day or half-day trips. There is usually someone at your hotel that can set you up. If you get a chance, walk the Malecon (boardwalk) in the evening. There are vendors, artists and sand carvers on the beach. If you can take a bus to or from Old Town (about 45 cents American) it is a fun experience. Taxis to anyplace in or around town run from twenty-five to sixty-five pesos, which is $2.50 to $6.50. There is a great Walmart and the Mega store is great for shopping. You can get medication (like antibiotics) over the counter, American shampoo, conditioner, etc. Talk to people in your hotel who have been there a few days. They can usually tell you about what they've been up to. Sometimes word of mouth is the best advertising.
Best wishes on your marriage and hope you have a wonderful honeymoon with lots of wonderful memories to share for a long, long happy life together.

I stayed in Nuevo Vallarta in January. It was beautiful.

There are many things to do in Puerto Vallarta. I loved Vallarta Adventures. They have a plethora of activities. There is whale watching, a canopy tour, jeep safari, snorkeling, sailing, and the list goes on.

I was checking out their web site (since we may be returning to Puerto Vallarta in January) and they have this program called Survivor. I don't know if it appeals to you, but it's either a 2 day/1 night or a 3 day/2 nights program teaching you basic survival skills. "A thousand years ago, if you didn't know this stuff, you'd die." I think it sounds like a lot of fun. You get a hammock and are taught the skills to build your own shelter. "Our Survival Experience is the ultimate Puerto Vallarta adventure tour with an emphasis on ecological awareness, expedition planning and organizational skills. The goal is to use your hands, your imagination, and the tools you can find in nature to achieve complete self reliance and confidence."

Since you will be on your honeymoon, I strongly urge you to consider their "Rhythms of the Night" tour. It's a cruise to Las Caletas where you will watch a contemporary dance show and then will follow a candlelit path to the tables for your dinner. It's buffet-style, but there are tables on the beach and around the buffet area. My husband and I didn't get a table on the beach, but we did get one on a little patio, sort of away from everyone else. It was quite romantic, if I do say so myself.

Other than Vallarta Adventures, there are other tour companies offering splendid adventures. The flea market is a lot of fun...my husband loves bargaining...though he's not as good at it as his friend was. The Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe is quite beautiful.

Whale watching is only available Nov-March. You can stroll along the Malecon, swim with the dolphins, attend a Mexican fiesta, attend a bullfight (but I wouldn't recommend it),

I went to Vallarta last August and it rained a lot during the afternoons but it was really sunny during the day and it was not that bad, just don't go downtown because they have a lot of flows. I would rather go to Nuevo Vallarta

We were there for about a week during July of last year, and it didn't rain at all for us.
