i had my birthday and my bf - who intend 2 marry me never wished me a happy birthday or even a birthday gift. when i confronted him he said he is sorry. and is not as if he doesnt know.

My mom and my stepdad have been married for 5 years. They are so deeply in love..you can tell...yet he always forgets her birthday, valentines day, mothers day...but thankfully not christmas. I have to remind him if not shop for him on these days. Some guys are great at remembering these things..some arent.
Also....
My mom's 40th birthday we had a HUGE kegger...all night long partying...ya know something? I forgot to wish my mom a happy birthday. I realized it the next day and she said "So what..you were here with me..that's what counts." I still felt bad but that made it a little better. There just words. At least he was there.
As for the gift. That's just materialistic. I would rather have my loved ones there enjoying my company than showering me with junk I don't need. Think of it that way. I'm sure he really does love you.

It is NOT proper that your boyfriend did not wish you a happy birthday or even buy you a gift. How much does it cost to say "HONEY HAPPY BIRTHDAY I LOVE YOU YOU KNOW"! It is very selfish and inconsiderate to forget your bf or gf birthday and you are going to marry him?......small things mean alot in a relationship so search your soul and figure out what you want in a husband before you get married and see if your bf measures up and HAPPY BIRTHDAY....ella

Sounds to me that he thinks him just being with you is enough of a gift. Remember him in that fashion on his birthday

u should make him get u an extra special more expensive gift. I remind everyone months b4 my birthday and keep reminding them right up to the day!!!!!!!!!
